Nice review. The B650 and B650E boards seem fantastic for the needs of most people. Depending on whether you care about PCIE 5 support down the line, some of the slightly higher end models (like the B650E-F Rog Strix) can still be had for under $300 with zero drawbacks...at least on paper.

Way better choise in AM5 as this one isn't overpriced compared to other brand equivalent as the X670E was. Nice review (as always 🙂 )

The board seems really nice but I think it should be priced bellow the 200 euro mark. I'm excited to read future reviews about the ROG versions of the b650 chipsets. Hilbert, can you tell us how long it takes to boot? It would be nice to know that. Anyway, great review!

I have the non-wifi version and it's a bit slower than previous AM4 system. There's a beta bios but it crashed during install so it feels a bit like being a guinea pig. Had to rollback to older bios with bios rollback..

By a little, you mean the difference is almost non existant or it`s something noticeable and that bothers you? I ask this because i`m thinking about an AM5 build but i don`t want a system that takes a minute to boot...

Doesn't really bother me. I was a bit afraid it was going to take very long but I guess at least for this model the bios is somewhat mature. Still. I expect things to improve further on, I'll just make sure not to try beta bioses anymore. CPU temp is high but system is so far solid.

60 watts I can believe, but 60 Amps would make it an expensive computer to operate as it would more current than an household dryer. Could it be an misprint?

Just curious, what's the deal with Zen 4 boot times? Seems like that's always a topic that comes up in discussions, but people don't really get into the details. Is it an actual issue beyond the first time memory diagnostic? I know that apparently takes a few minutes, but it shouldn't be a regular issue. Are there boot time issues after that initial instance? Is so, how extreme? It's not exactly a deal breaker, but I don't exactly feel like going back to multi-minute boot and reboot times.

when you're on a platform that always assumes 1t command rates, training tends to occur often.
