Really would love one of them 4k 144hz monitors... i'm guessing they might cost an arm and a leg though 😏Although aren't all mainstream cards limited to DP1.2 4k60? this mean we got to wait for Volta cards before we can make full use of this ?

The PG27VQ looks like the best option imo, zero bezel and no doubt lower price compared to the PG27UQ.

Grrr, wish they'd release the pricing already.

Nah nah, gotta have that 4K 144hz IPS. I'll do anything for it. Kind of want it bigger, like 32" but whatever. Wish they had a launch date so I could schedule my kidney removal surgery.

Cost, 27", 4K and bezels from 2012, no thanks. I agree 32" would have been perfect for 4K with that I could then maybe overlook the bezel thickness.

If u want a quantum dot monitor on full HD u better of with samsung @ 144 hz 27 inch and 23 inch versions they are great monitors.

A shame that the PG27VQ is curved and not HDR. I doubt 4K is going to be drivable at higher framerate for at least another card gen. or two when 2560x1440 is only now getting there.

Aren't quantum dots VA panel? because in your post you say ips!

Totally agree 1440p + HDR is the winning combination.

Samsung uses VA panels, Asus uses IPS. Although I've read reports of the Samsung quantum dot monitors having some blurring issues.

No, it is IPS. ASUS confirms this on their website: Quantum-dot IPS display with a wide DCI-P3 color gamut for realistic colors and smoother gradation

If you read the card's specs on their main websites, you'll find that ALL of them have 1.4 DPs, at least all the recent ones.

So with DP 1.4 these are capable of utilizing Dolby Vision but there is no mention of officially supporting it, why? Sorry but a monitor at this point in the game should be talking about Dynamic HDR/Dolby Vision support or else its just outdated before it even hits the market

Thanks for the post Hilbert. I've been tracking the 27UQ since CES and although I'm glad they officially announced it, just wish they gave us an expected release date and/or price....

Ah i mean't on GPU's rather than the monitors themselves, though i just looked on the Nvidia site it seems at least the geforce 10 series is DP1.4 ready, guess it was backwards compatible which is nice. Sadly my 980ti doesn't seem to support anymore than DP1.2 🙁

Darn... no 27 inch HDR 1080p monitor. Call me crazy, but I really like my high framerates instead of 4K resolutions.

Based on "This again will be a curved screen however this model is HDR ready and has a quantum dot technology display with GSYNC adapter." the ROG SWIFT PG27VQ will be HDR ready, however the ASUS presentation image (first picture in the article) only specifies HDR for the ROG SWIFT PG27UQ. Could you confirm if the 1440p model supports HDR?

Just give me a 21:9 (1440p minimum) Curved 144Hz (or higher) HDR G-Sync panel and I'll sell one of my kidneys for it.

Anyone seen any nice reviews on this? I'd prefer seeing something by HH, of course...;)

Who wants a 60hz TN monitor?

It is already possible, you just gotta lower your settings from ultra.
