I'm more interested in "normal" motherboards, can't wait to see the options and prices.

I will wait for the formula

i think the formula is just the top spec for a ROG amd board what the differences are i can't tell you.

I don't really know what the Formula would add (beyond more RGB stuff, of course). The water temp/flow stuff from the Maxumus IX and maybe a waterblock on the VRMs? More fan headers? I suppose those would make sense given the X-series chips being only limited on OC speeds by temperatures. That being the case, it would be cool to see a monoblock like the Maximus IX Extreme, I guess.
AMD is setting themselves up to be the best value for your money, trying to sell $400-500 mobos doesn't really fit with that. That's likely why everyone is being very conservative about their boards at launch. If/when the chips start selling like crazy, then the crazy boards for overclockers will get made, but it will be a while most likely.

No just NO Asus , all i need when i think about AMD is a 100euros mobo that has decent OC potential , i don't care abour RGBlight's , fancy VRM radiators that we know don't really matter anymore like in the old day's.
So yeah wating for the cheapo stuff

I'd take a poke at that Prime mobo. You can keep the fugly blinky lights though, I don't want my case looking like the cops are chasing me. :infinity:

ASUS give me the TUF Sabertooth model please!!!
Stairmand
A single M.2 is a bit disappointing.

i need an all white mobo to come out like my asus sabertooth type s mobo i have now to keep my build matching then i might switch even though i just built this rig a few months ago

Lol the crying of RGB lights on a mobo, like no one here was cutting and soldering lights 5yrs ago trying to make their case look good, just wishing there was an easier way. It's lights on a mobo which will probably have.......wait for it.....an on/off switch. BOOM....MIND BLOWN!

Personally I'm glad mobo companies are giving the VIP treatment to AMD just like they have been doing for Intel for so many years. They look a whole lot better and not just the high end stuff either. I can only name a few mobo's that stood out as far as looks before the x370 like the BIOSTAR TA890FXE AM3 , MSI 870A Fuzion Power Edition AM3 (beast, NB set to 3200mhz), MSI Socket AM3+/ AMD 990FX , every Crosshair/Formula/ROG after III and TUF boards. That's about it, there are a few I'm missing but i only mentioned those above cause i had most of them and looked for cosmetics and quality when being mobo's in the past.

@Seikon
So you want to oc, but go cheap on components?
Maybe on one of those 4+1 (power phase) boards. :3eyes:
...
I mean, i can live without lights and onboard sound,
but i wont sacrifice hardware/stability buy going "cheap".
so far, asrock is actually doing a better quality (vrm), while still running same/higher phase count i've seen on asus/msi.

Waiting for MSI Krait AM4 Edition...

Hm, those things have HDMI. Prepared for the APUs already 🙂

If the power delivery on the Pro is fine, it should make the better choice by far.

from the pics i've seen, power phases/design looks identical on hero and prime.
i still hope asrock has something similar by then.

I want to build my first Liquid Cooling setup that is why i will wait for formula dont care if the specs is the same as the hero
