I would never go back to a 60hz screen.
preach, brother and when i remember that we considered 60hz "butter smooth"... LOL 120+ or bust!

right now i'm thinking of the 43" Aorus tweaked LG OLED panel. it blows this away in contrast and color and has true black where the pixel is turned OFF. it's spec'd for 144Hz (really 120). that would be my first choice
Gigabyte only has a 48" Aorus panel, the 43" is VA, the only other OLED options are with smaller 32" OLED monitors.

And i cant find the incentive to upgrade from my 60 hz. As long as cutting edge games dont do 60 fps at max settings @ 4k with a 3090, then what's the point? But i guess it's down to what kind of games you like, and what your preferences are. Mine is obviously eye candy in SP games.

I'm not impressed, for that price it needs to give a stellar HDR experience. Yet it doesnt even make 100% sRGB, let alone anything in the HDR colour space. Its colour volume is poor. Even TVs show this a clean pair of heels in colour volume and max brightness, for way less money.

i'd rather play at "medium" @ 120hz than ultra @ 60hz, it is that much better once you crossed over to high refresh gaming tbh... the smoothness beats detail any day!

In your opinion. I'd rather play cyberpunk at 40 fps and get all the gorgeousness, than compromise visuals to get higher fps. But im guessing you're not even playing at 4k in the first place, so your opinion is kinda trivial.

Yeah, and so much of the money goes into those local dimming zones, which you are better off just setting to static, making them a complete waste of money. Color me unimpressed.

Nvidia needs to release a new generation of G-sync Modules that support DP 2.0 and HDMI 2.1
This. I'm not buying a new monitor that doesn't support either.

At that price i still think it can still be higher for a monitor.

OFC its "in my opinion". Any and all opinions are "trivial", lol. Its preference, whatever rocks your boat. Not understanding this makes YOU trivial. 😀 Btw, i am playing at 4k/120 as i said on medium settings, would be nice if there was a gpu that could do ultra AND 120 but there isnt. To me, if a compromise has to be made, HRR>"detail". YMMV

It would be interesting to see this monitor compared against LG OLED CX 48".
Only taking into consideration that CX48 inch costs now a third of that small monitor's price and there really isn't any comparison to be made.

Strange choice. If fps was important to me, and detail wasnt, i would have had a 240 hz 1440p display. But as high fps is not important at all for me, or the kinda games i play, id rather have my cake and eat it too... aka 4k with max settings, or bust.

So many problems with it and the price is in the stratosphere.

One the best gaming monitors out there for sure, yet with some very mediocre results, gamut being the worst. The BoM for the tiny OLED display would be better spent literally anywhere else - HDMI 2.1 or a proper heatsink to silence or even completely avoid the active fan comes to mind. Very weird overall. PS I turned on the display and the first thing I heard (yes, I heard, not saw) was the fan ramping up. Not loud, not obnoxious, but disagreeable, a ventilator fan has returned to torment me. While the majority of people will not be troubled by it, I despise them though. Hilbert has had it! Finally admitting he despises the majority of people ^^

Wow the price …

It's not the same but you can get a 65" Oled (LG GX) for little more than 2k euros....those at Asus are nuts

1440p is too low for a 55" and at 120hz (even 100Hz) the smoothness is just right, more is not really that better. 60 to 120 is night and day, 120 to 240 is barely visible (while pushing needed "horsepower" thru the roof, even for medium details).

Can you link this thing because I've been scouring the internet and I cannot find a reference to a 43" OLED. This link reads like the 43 here is OLED because it groups them but really only the 48 inch is. I'm curious because Id buy a 42/43" OLED but afaik none are available
sorry, i have inside track. it will be announced shortly. these are essentially "binned" panels so they will out-spec CX series but otherwise have the same manufacturing. there is no fan noise and they have KVM switching built in w 2nd input USB C (@ 4k 60) for laptops etc... they simply make more large panels than small nowadays because those scale to home theater sales and the profit margin on (esp) 65"+ is the best in the business. Sony is selling the hell out of them too and LG is happy to supply

nice monitor but damn, for that price i could get 2 55" LG OLED with 120hz if not the 3rd
