Gave me a good giggle this, very true. When its still the same as my PG27 then there are some issues 😀

@RavenMaster and? enough ppl out there (how about a teen kid getting into gaming) that dont need 240hz on a UHD 49in ultra wide, and/or dont have the funds for it.

@fry178 What? you think this RoG monitor with older tech is cheap? It's still a £500 monitor.

Which is about £50 cheaper than when the PG27 came out 6 years ago... using basically the same specs lol..

kinda missing the most important spec, the resolution. If it was 4k, it'd be epic.. But yea it's 1440p. So LG 27GN950-B still the king. It does 160 hz at 4k. I mean sure playing modern triple A games at 4k is pretty tough as buying a 3080+ at msrp is impossible these days.. But it looks absolutely stunning at 1440p so it was a no brainer for me. (Does cost a fair bit more though so it this product still makes sense)

There's literally nothing that can power a 4K monitor at anywhere near 160 fps with nice settings, not in a modern game. So unless you only play eSports titles and watch movies, I don't see the point of going for a high refresh 4K monitor. Realistically an RTX 3080 is a 4K/60 card... an asshole-designed one with 10GB of RAM instead of the 20 it should have had... or a 1440p high fps card. I use a 1440p/144Hz monitor, there is no modern game I get 140 fps in unless I crank things way down. Let me put it this way, at 1440p, an RTX 3080 is barely enough to get 140 fps in an ancient crap looking title like Monster Hunter World with optimized settings, not maxed. Anyway, monitors haven't advanced much in the last half decade... most are more or less the same. What we need is something that pushes real HDR, real blacks for proper contrast, forward, at a price people can actually afford. Those micro LED monitors, or whatever the hell the latest one is, that we were promised 10 years ago can't come soon enough.
