ASUS have tens of monitor models are all of them bad? Are all of them have bleed? are competitors better?
I never had an Asus monitor myself, but there is reason people buying them again and again, my next monitor will be either asus 35inch or Acer 35inch, they just never come, my VA200Hz, HDR1000, GSYNC2 monitors 🙁

I was looking into buying a monitor from MSI, but their prices are ridiculous and I didn't want it to be curved (gimmick) or have rgb for kids.
That's the story of how I ended up with my ASUS MG248QR 24" (144Hz) 1080p Freesync monitor and don't have anything to complain about.

Have a 32" 4K Benq for my xbox. Hooked it up to my PC, looks fantastic. Would be perfect with at least 100 fps and gsync.

It is not currently technically possible to completely eliminate backlight bleeding. Now it depends on how sensitive are you to this problem: "abysmal" for you can be acceptable for other person...

Acer can’t be far behind, they also make good high hz monitors, which are actually better half the time.

Considering ASUS promotes in panels on every possible LAN tournaments, I am not surprised.
"Leader" cause sell number are high, doesn't mean provides "better" monitors. It means marketing does its job and gamers buy it.
Same like saying Beats by Dre are leaders in headphones industry, cause they promote and sell their products to audio noobs who have no idea that Sennheisers, Beyerdynamics, Shure or other brands exist 😀

Wrong comparison. Asus does provide the best monitors. And the most expensive ones for a reason. The other brands just follow up from behind.

I'm not sure about that. Of course with any sort of backlight, your going to have panel glow, that is not the same thing as UNEVEN light bleeding around the panel edges which is what I believe he means. That can be eliminated. But it costs more.

This was a quality control issue that they rectified. It was also one issue and they have a pretty large line of monitors. I bought the PG279Q in late 2016 to early 2017 it is a fantastic display that doesn't have the early bleed issues. Asus made sure to make it right with customers that had the issue and made sure to fix the assembly issue that caused it. That monitor is a 2015 monitor that still sets the standard for 1440p 144-165hz displays. They certainly had some early mistakes though as you mention. Good thing is the fix wasn't complicated.

Lacking in only the Z390 VRM on non top tier boards from what I have seen. What else? Great products overall and the VRM deal is only an issue if you are shelling out for the 9900K which is a weird niche place to be anyways. I run a 9700K at 5.1Ghz no problem on my Z370 Hero. The VRM is a problem for one processor and it's the one you really shouldn't bother with. I would agree that Asus could give better VRM at least starting at the Hero and should have at the launch of Z390. I understand the Z370 Hero using the VRM it does but the board intended for Z390 and 8 core chips that also isn't cheap should have gone further.

The issue they had was not normal IPS glow it was bleed and they are not interchangeable in definition. Asus allowed customers to swap out defective monitors and adjusted their manufacturing process to prevent the issue in future PG279Q displays. The issue was also exacerbated by people confusing glow with bleed. Bleed was the real issue and it was a quality control issue where light escaped through the side of the bezel onto the screen.

Its either OLED or FALD not together.
OLED doesn't have backlight at all, its Organic so it "lights by itself" and thats the benefit of OLED, the black is 0 black because it just turns off the pixels.
24 inches is very 2000, im looking at 35 inch 21:9 and thinking how small it is ::)
