Why does it support this speed of memory ? If you lose the CPU warranty if you use ? :P

the expense is ridiculous. even as a tech nerd in silicon valley idk very many people who will buy $750 + mobos for home use. combined with the new (overpriced) Intel cpus any gamer can build a really good gaming system just from the mobo + cpu price. yeah i know some people will buy but this round of mobos will all be super expensive just from the cost of the power delivery and heat management components. and of course, once you have that level of components, you're not about to put cheap(er) parts elsewhere for fear of a cascading failure. these may be "halo" parts but the "halo" is getting hollow.

Motherboards have been supporting memory speeds beyond the certified memory speeds of a CPU for awhile. Running faster memory than the CPU is rated for doesn't void any warranties. Only if you push voltages to the CPU do you end up in trouble and that's only if it breaks of course. You'll want to run memory that is faster than the CPU is rated for unless the system is used for more basic computing needs and squeezing out performance doesn't matter. Anyways, it's just a memory speed rating for the motherboard and it really doesn't speed for what the CPU can actually support that will be found simply by trying.

@Jayp @caldas checked intel site, and it seems that, yes, the warranty will be voided, although, the language is not very clear. under FAQ (may need to click show more) https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/extreme-memory-profile-xmp.html Then again, nobody is forcing nobody to disclose that you've used xmp () "Enabling and use of IntelĀ® XMP is a type of overclocking1, and will ultimately void the CPU warranty. Altering clock frequency or voltage may damage or reduce the useful life of the processor and other system components, and may reduce system stability and performance. Product warranties may not apply if the processor is operated beyond its specifications. Check with the manufacturers of system and components for additional details." " 1 No product or component can be absolutely secure." Immediate edit to add the "1"

The entire market induces you to use XMP, memory companies have XMP certified modules, there is a program to it! The same happen with motherboards ... And when you use this feature from Intel self, you breach the warranty. It doesn't really make sense to me.

You put as many things as possible in warranty terms to cover your ass because in USA people will try to sue companies for any reason. Some manuals are 1/3 actual instructions and 2/3 warranty terms.

I also thought that XMP didnĀ“t breach any warranty because itĀ“s supported by Intel and their partners.

Did they mention the price of the MAXIMUS XII FORMULA? My loop order is kinda dictating that I cool the chipset, ofc I could change it but easier to just keep it the way it is considering my last 3 or 4 mobos have been formulas
