Gorgeous laptop, even if a GTX 960M is going to struggle @3840x2160...

Indeed but it wouldn't be that thin/light/cool/affordable 😉

What is the point of 4K on a small laptop anyways? Other than "i has"? I don't think it's possible to see that fine detail anymore.

Actually it IS easily possible to see the difference.

I don't think this laptop is made for the enthousiast, but more for the casual gamer and as powerfull business laptop. As 4K is ideal for work.

Well, you'd be able to play all the mobas, all the Valve titles, and all the Blizzard titles (mind you the Blizzard titles at low settings), and since those are where the most player base of the target market for a product like this lies, those who want to play AAA titles and/or overally highly demanding games don't even thinking of slim laptops so I see no problem really.

RIP battery.

Well my phone is 1920x1080 and I manage on its 5in screen. Also if this laptop is 3840x2160 it should upscale well from a 1920x1080 render (1 pixel rendered into 2x2 pixels displayed). I won't be buying one though.

I see it, I still waiting on those 4k, 1440p 24' monitor, they stick that stuff in laptops and smart phones but refuse to do 24' monitors
RIP battery.
Nothing new there battery life on laptops are terrible imo. and smart phones? god dont even get me started, all this high tech smartphones with all this high end stuff but most of still have terrible mic and terrible sound quality. then they die in like 8 hours.

No 980M with 8GB in SLI or better seems rather odd for a 4k screen.

I hope that temperature-wise it won't be such a failure as MSI GS60. The cooling on G751 is astounding, but this one is much smaller and I can't really see exhausts. It's also pretty disappointing that they decided to cut Ethernet port. Many slim ASUS laptops have a cool expandable connector, so despite thin form factor, you can still attach them by cable. Yes, even a desktop version of GTX 980 struggles with 4k, but you can play at FullHD (perfect 200% scaling), and use productivity apps at 4k. Text and graphics (both vector and raster) look much better with higher DPI, and we're talking about 282 DPI here. It will be as good as print. Yeah, I'd like to see 970 or 980 option as well, but I'm aware that it's not really an option because of heat at such weight and size. Too bad. Yet, if the keyboard is as rigid as in G751, it may be my laptop of choice in case my current one breaks. Too bad that without a dedicated Ethernet port, I'd have to use an adapter and only 2 USBs would remain.

i don't think you will see 970 or 980m on the G501, it's to slim. but it looks gorgeous and the 960m it's a pretty good card, not for 4k of course.

I have the 970m Razer with the 3200x1800 screen. It is somewhere in between 3K and 4K. To be honest the size of icons and control panels can be almost to small to work. Since it is a 970 instead of 960, Skyrim the only game I have on it runs full screen with everything set to very high.

Battery should still be much better than a full size laptop. I have the 970m razer and can get 4hr or more just regular use, no game or around 2hr for gaming. This is not that bad for what is very strong small skinny laptop.

I was pretty impressed by the Razer Blade, but I think I have just fallen in love with this asus laptop, tho I have no use for one, its stunning nethertheless.
