Who's buying these super expensive routers? €700 is insane for a WiFi router! I think by the time I'm spending that much on network gear, I'm getting genuinely high spec rack mount industrial gear that would blow this Asus toy out of the water.

But it has RGB, thats the most expensive part of the router 🙂

The fact they can charge that and still not have 2.5GB switches is a joke.

Guru3D needs to stop posting news of flagship products. There are simply too many aneurysms as a result.

The all in one scenario is the only usefulness of this type of gear. But the price to performance ratio is well out of whack in my opinion. For the same cash you could go buy an Untangle or PfSense appliance (for example) and a small switch or additional WiFi if needed and get far more performance, security and configurability. But then none of it would say "gamer" or have RGB on it so there is that.

if you buy this router ,don't forget to buy the gaming chair from the yesterdays news .

700 Euros, blimey, you could buy a 4050Ti for that kind of money.

I have the GT-AXE11000 and it is great. Best router I've owned. I have it for the 6E which is also great. The biggest feature of this upgrade is the fourth band to be used as a 5Ghz backhaul for AiMesh use. They finally fixed this flaw in their 6Ghz AiMesh product line. Having said that, it's just overpriced plain and simple. This should have replaced the GT-AXE11000 at MSRP $499 at most.

The price comes from the Asus ROG tax, as always. 🙄

At this price range ... Why buy all in one ? You can buy different pieces that do the job individually cheaper in total and you will update only what you need when is time for that !

With that money, you could buy network gear far more superior in features. But no bling-bling and you have to setup all that yourself. For one I must give credit to ROG marketing team to tap into the "I want the best" crowd without spending a second in configurations. We could argue endlessly about whatever one could buy with that about of money, the tendency worldwide is to have it all, have it now, be that as flashy possible and no learning curve. I may be the odd ball here, but I reckon that Asus had the balls to offer this product without batting an eye. Kudos. PS Those 2x10Gb ports are "the reason" of being so expensive, and latest Brodcom chipset.

I can buy a 10port 10Gbe switch and pair it with a WiFi 6E WAP and still be well below the price of this router..... In fact, I'd still be at only half it's price.....and have a faster network overall.

It comes with a resident visa for the Republic of Gamer though. Any serious gamer just uses an Ethernet cable.

I've got an TP-Link Archer AX6000 Next-Gen WiFi 6 downstairs that feeds WiFi downstairs and outside plus Ethernet to the rooms in my house and a TP-Link TL-WA1201 Access Point Dual Band AC1200 on Ethernet that takes car of the WiFi upstairs.

First thing I do when moving into a new house is bust out the drill and crawl in the attic for a few hours running ethernet cable to the rooms with PCs.

I would just go wireless. I just did it with my sub and it works perfect..
