It looks very good (on paper). What's the catch?

I've come to the conclusion that 27' is just too small a screen size, you spend all that money on a high end GPU (or two) then play games on something as small as 27'. I really think that a 32' 16:9 or 34' 21:9 should be the minimum to go for nowadays.

27 could be nice for gaming, on 32 your eye start to "search" things on screen if too close (less than 1m) on 27 you are still focused on the whole screen (mean more "killer" vision). of course refresh rate and resolution are important too.

It depends on how far you're sitting from the screen and what your doing on it. When I play CS:GO I hate 27" but for everything else it's better.

Or you could just set the monitor closer to your face? My 29" monitor covers almost all of my vision at an arms length, well maybe its because its a 21:9 and you physically see more horizontally than vertically.

To be honest I think my current screen (24") is too big as i find im searching for things on the screen. I played my best in FPS on a 19 inch non wide screen monitor (1280/1024). That said i'm short sighted so most likley sit with my face closer to the monitor, size is relative afterall!

27" is more than enough for me. Any bigger and I need to sit further away from the screen. I have the Swift model but this one could be a great seller. As usual though, it all comes down to price and how people in Europe, especially the UK will get ripped off 😉

"screen will have a minimum refresh rate around 40Hz" Hope that doesnt mean that screen stops VRR after that. Some VRR monitors wont go below 20hz or they start blinking.

Same here, can't see myself sidegrading to another 27", I would prefer a 30+ and just push the monitor further back if it bothers me. A 30"+, 16:9, 1440p, IPS and 120-144Hz refresh rate... I would pay a lot of money for that without regret. 🙂

no no guys it isn't a 29.34mm screen with 98-bit color ._. cmon monitor makers jeez!!!1 on a more serious note...nice. 😀

I'm a noob when it comes to monitors so I have a question for you all: I currently have a 1080p IPS monitor 60hz. I would like to keep this monitor and buy a G-sync/freesync monitor sometime in the future. Can I run them both at the same time with one having a variable refresh rate? I would game on the g-sync/freesync monitor while the other one up for things like twitch/email/porno.

Yes. I have a PG278Q G-Sync + QNIX 27" + U2410 + Samsung 40" TV. All 3 other monitors work when the PG278Q G-Sync is enabled. I assume freesync will work the same way, if not better.

And have an sticky monitor screen? No thanks.

Well, this is my new dream monitor. I'm on a 144hz, 24" ASUS right now.

He just has to put some news paper and maybe some tissues. Just has to make sure he doesn't miss. Of course, the first spurt could indeed fly on the screen resulting in the sticky monitor issue you mentioned. :P I must admit, this DID had happen to me before, a LONG time ago of course...

No, it will not start blinking. This 40Hz is incorporated in EDID and card using Adaptive sync will not ask monitor to run under 40Hz, if fps drops below 40, it will switch to v-sync/no-sync based on user's settings in CCC. AMD will follow standard and that is why there is no special certification needed. Your job is to have hardware which pulls 60fps+ anyway. Otherwise you are wasting your money on 120Hz screen.

the "catch" is this does NOT use amd freeSYNC it uses some kind of compatible open adaptive sync'ing will it be as good as real freeSYNC? who knows, but then we wouldnt really need freesync to exist at all other than branding. I will wait for some reviews first the BIG PLUS this monitor has is not the high refresh rate but the DIFFERENCE between the lowest and the high

Tbh if you start dropping to those framerates, it's time to start turning off VSYNC and eye candy to maintain a decent framerate anyhow.

mmm..tempted by this ips panel but i am enjoying my Rog Swift PG278Q panel at the moment the colors not to bad actually, i have it sitting next to a Qnix pls panel and the Swifts 8bit tn color is surprisingly way better.
