Okay, prices are still horrible for "gaming" laptops. I'll be back next year.

Its all about timing, I picked up my 2070gtx TUF lappy for a steal just as the 3*** series came out, its a great 1080p 60fps laptop for games

When you hear somebody say "its the same as the desktop version" and you are like nah mate, power draw and thermals say otherwise. I'd go for a 4070 version at most, nice balance of power and power draw.

Just not the 80w 4070 thats far too power limited and not faster than 3070ti 140w

I might check what the 2070 pulls, the screen is 120hz but I limited my gaming to 72fps and even then the fans (on performance mode) ramp up to WW2 fighter levels. Il run maybe Furmark and see what it draws. One thing about the ROG laptops, they are very well built and crazy resilient. I've had laptops from MSI (970gtx) and Gigabyte (1070gtx) and both were flimsy and poorly constructed ( in relation to the ROG). And relative prices were similar.

Yeah I have to check what happens to the laptops once laptop 4060s and 4050s come out... I'd actually think I'm good with a laptop 3060/3070, but frame generation could really be a thing there. And once they are released, I can either choose between 40gen's low card, or e.g. a laptop 3060 Did you pick a laptop with gsync/ freesync in it's display?

It is for 1080p, but anything more than that and it's going to struggle.

No it doesn't have G Sync that i can find but I ran furmark and thec2070 pulled 115w at 1.7ghz.

I think mobile 1080 was about the sole card that nearly equaled the desktop version, just some percent slower than desktop. Since then the gap has grown huge.
