Excellent, 2gb just isn't future-proof enough.
Not that nvidia cards are gonna be very future-proof anyways now they're anti-OC.

Really sucks that Nvidia is locking the Vcore down to 1.175. Really no reason to jump at a card with beefed up VRM when even reference cards will offer the same overclocking experience. Glad to see more vendors offering 4GB variants though. ASUS's DirectCU designs are almost always top in their class compared to other vendors' offerings so this card definitely still has something to offer over other models.

thats dependent on each and every individual card. the actual models that would be affected are evga ftw 680 and msi lightening. castrating both cards, the vast majority of models have always been restricted and probably could not handle higher volts for long periods of time

It's not voltage that kills components, it's heat, so yeah i dunno about you guys but my card has never seen past 58C in it's life, usually around 51C actually @1.23GHz with boost disabled, i feel my card could do more that the 1280MHz it caps out at now -But nvidia feel i should buy another card for more gpu power.
