Given how poor the non Ti 2080's are, if leaked benchmarks are accurate, these 2070's look like being a very poor value card for the money they're asking.

This card should cost $350 max.

Love the looks on the blower one.

All their new gpu's are insanely poor value.

Having a GTX970 I was looking forward to seeing what these 2070's would be like for an upgrade, but it may well be that at the estimated price I would be better off with a 1080 which have the odd bargain nowadays. This TSMC / Nvida 12nm process seems to be slightly slower than Pascals 16nm, they get faster standard graphics performance ( rasterisation rather than Ray tracing) seems to be due to ndouble FP16 perf and so 50% better shading. Also, nvidia have indicated lower cards than 2070 will not have ray tracing cores and the tensor cores will be removed or lowered. If that turns out to be true then these cards could be a lot cheaper but still have the 50% shader increase. That might be a better bet as a move from 970. Ok, misses out on ray tracing and DLSS anti alias, but that not be big shakes for this first generation..... 7nm process might be out in 6 months and as I have been waiting so long already what is another 6 months? Of course could always be waiting. I don't really want to spend more than 350-400 though. That price has always been my sweet spot since the 4200ti

I suspect that the 2000 series RTX cards should run pretty hot when using all CUDA Cores,Tensor Cores and RT Cores together. If the RTX 2070 strix needs a 2.5 slot cooler, the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti will probably be a triple slot card.

If this card was priced correctly that then means they would need to lower the prices of the 10 series a bit more which I honestly don't think they want to do even this long after release, I can see them just holding the prices where they are for the 10 series until there is no more stock, It's like Nvidia has become drunk on the mining craze prices and no longer want to provide good priced video cards to gamers.

I'm in the exact same boat. I was poking around at the 1070ti and 1080 a few days ago but I still can't justify letting them have $400 for 2+year old tech. I'm almost thinking of sticking with the 970 again. It's not like it dies during games, it just doesn't give you leeway for 100% eye candy. I was really looking forward to the 2070 though. I guess we'll just have to remind ourselves in the future that it was the GPU manufacturers that killed pc gaming.

Am I the only one who is still baffled who the hell on earth needs an >> USB port << on the GPU?

USB-C port is a display capable port as well. Not like it would eat much space, so why not? Maybe in the future it will be used more, who knows.

What do you mean poor non Ti? 2080 > 1080Ti. Which is a repeat of history generally. I agree they are a poor value though.

Barely faster, about 10% on average. There was a time when the '70 series cards were the ones that matched the previous generations Ti model, 970>780Ti 1070>980Ti Now it looks like the '80 series cards doing that. These cards are very poor value from top to bottom.

Lack of competition does some crazy things.

Not worth it and is Asus, no warranty or really tough to negotiate warranty.

I blame a lack of competition for this (looks to be) underwhelming series. Help us AMD, you're our only hope.

This card is completely pointless, as well as insanely overpriced. The aftermarket cards are going to be about 650 US. For that price, or perhaps 50 bucks more, you can buy a GTX 1080 Ti. The RTX 2070 is using a TU106. A person would be crazy to pay that much for this. This is the core that replaces the GP106 in the GTX 1060. Just think about that for a minute. They want over 600 US for a midrange product. It is as plain as day that the price is a complete rip off.
But it raytraces better than a 1080ti, remember that. Look, I've said it once and I'll say it again; if you don't have RTX in your box, you may as well be dead. At any rate, you're certainly not playing games "the way they're meant to be played." Bunch of penny-pinching whiners in this forum.

You are either trying to deliberately annoy or are a shill.

Why can't I be both? For every person I convert to the gospel of Jensen, the boss himself sends me a spicy picture of himself posing in a sexy leather jacket. For every person I annoy, I get that warm and fuzzy feeling that most normal people get from doing an act of good. Nah, I'm just being sarcastic. People are taking this whole GPU release so seriously and going around in circles ad nauseam when all they really need to do is vote with their wallets if they're annoyed.
