From the article:
In the past, motherboard players only invested limited resources in the branded desktop market, but are turning more aggressive recently as the PC DIY market no longer sees strong growth, while demand in the enterprise market and the gaming PC market is increasing reports digitimes.
When will people realize that strong growth isn't everything... how about making the same amount of hundreds of millions of $ a year isn't the reason to quit on such a market? I don't think custom diy pc building ever was a negative in terms of true money to be made. It's just not the big, easy, fast buck that people with too much money pay for 30% extra cost just to buy a rig rather than build one themselves...

The problem with prebuilt computers companies sometimes use ugly looking cases and that is why I like to build the PC myself. I disagree with the article because I still see a strong growth possibility in DIY PC building. True some who built their own computer in the past might not have as much time to do it again.

That's not even the biggest issue imo. Bloatware, pre-installed crap, ... if they could minimize that bollox that bogs down on system performance and at the same time give people half decent motherboards compared to other vendors, these pre-built systems might just be quite interesting.

Also very true as well. All that bloatware really impacts performance of the computer.
