After a few elite and hardcore enthusiasts will buy the first batch, the pikachu surprise face on manufacturer seeing that sales will stagnate.
The bulk sales comes from medium range and OEM.

They've been in business long enough to know what they're doing. I suspect these will either be low-volume production runs (just enough to make a buck or two), or there's something about performance that may justify the price.

If these prices are real, and that remains to be seen, I'll predict it won't be long before the prices come back to Earth...;)

Still rocking a Crosshair VII Hero X470 and a gold sample 5800x and 32GB Bdie. Personally, I love all the USB ports and need the "X" motherboards. I sim race and play full body VRChat. I have 11 USB ports, plus the case ports and still bought a PCI USB card.
However, I've built every PC I've owned since 1995 and they can kiss my white ass if the think I'm paying those prices. I've wanted a Dark Hero for a while, but i'm not paying $450 for a MB. Gonna wait till these 7000's drop on the market, then maybe I'll pick up an x570 board and maybe a 5800x3d. But prolly not.
When my RTX 3080 is maxxed out in VR and trips sim racing, what CPU i have doesnt really matter. Spending one damn cent on a new MB/CPU/RAM before i get a better GPU is just retarded.
