Nothing for me here... None look like potential mATX

Oh, looks like finally at least one OEM didn't put a shìt-fan on the x570...

It does have fan under the thing... it is just hidden very cleverly. I actually love the design.

I personally think the fan is a good idea if it extends the heatsink over the 2 M2 slots, as them things do need active cooling half the time.

Don't say that!

they hid it, aka why they did this pic-amalgamation thing. To avoid the moaners. Hide like say, put a low end board that won't have it due lack of NVME raid support and use that in the picture. Or its just trickery and cut just enough to hide it.

this is fùcking sad... Heatpipes are better than dwarf-fans..

it sucks that small fans are cheaper than real heatsinks (esp. for shipping). when the itx comes out i'm going to rip out the chipset fan and use copper VRM (aftermarket) heatsinks. i cannot abide the mosquito-like whine of small fans.

The Bottom right one is mATX. I suspect its a B550 though, not the X570.

Oh noooooo! I thought the days of those annoying 40mm fans were long dead. Had one on an old Abit board that I had to remove and replace with a heatsink. There's usually plenty of airflow in that area from front mounted fans, a decent heatsink would be more than adequate.

I wonder if they need to absolutely have the fan for the worst situation around, that is, a case with an abysmal cooling or one of those ultra silent rig builder cases that are like ovens. In other words, they would have unnecessary warranty returns from people who don't know how to build a PC if they don't make the mobo so that it would still function in a case with no fans whatsoever (apart from extra components, which might not help the chipset).

I'm sure EK and BitsPower are already working on monoblocks for the issue. They won't be cheap, though, if that monstrosity that BitsPower made for the $1000 Gigabyte board is any indication. Of course, the other side of that coin is that Barrow/Barrowch and Bykski are probably also working on much cheaper options that will come a couple months later.

I did think that one could be mATX but I've convinced myself otherwise. It's unlikely because underneath the PCIe 16x slot in the photo there's too much space with the nvme and another smaller PCIe. If it was mATX, that 2nd 16x would be the very last thing on the board. I say that the PCIe 16x in the picture is the second one and not the first because it has no metal support. All assumptions of course. And also no way are B550 boards announced now, that's for next year with Zen2+.

Yeah, didnt see the black slot right at the bottom, almost obscured by the text. Im waiting for an mATX X570 too, and AsRock should have one or two from the previous leaks. edit : B550 is very likely aB450. Just whether the board will be qualified for PCIe4 in the first (or all) slot i expect.

i would love to see a motherboard with heatpipes like that https://ksassets.timeincuk.net/wp/uploads/sites/54/2008/05/7725-Circupipe2-1.jpg instead of a small fan but that might be just me !
My old Q6600 system, originally I had a Gigabyte 965P-DQ6 motherboard but it died, so I replaced it with an X38-DS5 - both boards used heatpipe connected heatsinks for VRMs, north and south bridges. Particularly the X38 board, the northbridge ran so hot, you could burn yourself if you touched the heatsink, seriously needed a fan. I'd personally take a fan other large heatsinks any day from my experience - particularly with modern cases being designed for good airflow and sound proofing. I honestly don't understand the aversion to the vans, they wont be loud, fan tech is a lot better now than it was 10-20 years ago and considering the TDP is 15w same as typical ultra-portable laptops (which have incredibly restricted airflow and dissipation), considering these aren't often all that loud. I can only see the benefits of the fan too, helping keep high performance SSDs cool.

@Only Intruder i see your point my main train of thought was that if a tiny heatsink with a tiny fan can be matched by few heatpipes +fins especially in a good airflow pc , the reason i posted a picture with heat pipes going on the vrms is because was the first i spot with a quick google image search. :P

i do not think those fan will get to function when you use everything on pci express 3. Like there is no need of a fan now, there won't be untill we get pci4 in the chipset.
