Awesome, I can't freaking wait to play this in multi screen like I did with Origins! Looks amazing, I would get a 2080 Ti just to play this at Ultra 60FPs. My fear is my 1080 Ti will not be enough @ 5760x1080 just like Origins. I really hope the reviews of the 2080 Ti are going to be solid, if only the Boss man could give us a sign 🙂

So you would buy a 1100$ card just to play with a reskined Origins. Ok.

Selling the 1080Ti might cover about half or a bit over half of the cost to the 2080Ti and at that resolution (3x displays I guess?) you do need a powerful GPU so if the 2080Ti can reach a 25% - 30% extra performance that's probably a good upgrade depending on what you would be comfortable with spending on computer hardware. 🙂 For the game itself it's interesting to see the additions to the previous Origins formula though much do indeed feel the same or only slightly tweaked or updated. Exploration mode sounds interesting although how it works in execution remains to be seen, differences between the two characters also exist and then the dialogue choices and various probably smaller branching outcomes. Some 300 side quests too in this one which seems like it would be a lot of filler or basic objectives like kill this or deliver/find that but that's pretty common quest design although the amount of them also leaves the writing and design in question. Origins had about 100 or so without the DLC and still had plenty of basic filler missions that weren't very fun. EDIT: Well for the hardware I think the NDA's will start being lifted around 14th if that info was correct so then we'll know a bit more about the GPU hardware followed the software and finally the reviews themselves. (And how well they end up exceeding the 1080Ti's performance and of course the 2070 and 2080 as more affordable but still fairly high-end options depending on what retail price ends up being.)

Yeah pretty much half the price. Your right, I have 3 x 42" 1080p for my Nvidia Surround setup. I really hope it is 50% more than a 1080 Ti but that may be wishful thinking, 30% would be worth it and it would keep Origins and Odyssey at 60FPS + Ultra at 5760x1080(plus also my other games that need that extra juice at that rez). Well I am a game developer and game engine developer so the new tech would also be used in my daily work and not only games so to me it be worth it for that alone. I really love Origins and my friends that went to E3 really liked Odyssey when they played it. So far all the videos paint is as a better Origins, really I would of been happy with Origins in a new zone and nothing else. Having said that all the new additions look worth it, are very cool, quality and a bonus. I like the new dialogue, male and female choice and class stuff it will provide a lot of replay value, so that is worth it too. Too bad it was not the 14th 🙁 , sounds like it has moved to the 19th now(according to videocardz . com). Seems like Nvidia pushed up the dates of the NDA, for the drivers and hardware are late. I hope this is not a bad sign, probably going to end up just waiting and hope for the best, fingers crossed it is 50% over a 1080 Ti. I am not sure we will see the ray tracing stuff for a few months after the GPUs drop anyways. Word is all the games are post updates that support it.

I'm not to keen on 'power of choice'. I want excellent scripted gameplay like AC Origins. Dont want options to choose a 'lesser' or 'better' outcome, because essentially thats what they will be, they will never be 'equally satisfying'. Although enjoyed Mass Effect, Skyrim, Fall Out games, still dont like the choices option.

The reported performance increases have been all over from what I'm trying to find but yeah it's anything from 20% to 60% so I'm really looking forward to the NDA's lifting and having more solid info on the hardware and of course the actual performance. A 50% increase would be incredible but I suppose it's not entirely out of the equation since it's not just new hardware but the GPU also brings some other enhancements and the 400 series drivers could make a nice bump in performance too plus the chcanges to overclocking bringing the overall performance gain even higher over the 1080Ti cards. 🙂 And yes some of the features are either going to need game specific support (RTX ray-tracing for one and it looks like DLSS from recent info is also one of these though I don't think it's been confirmed yet.) or will be introduced some time after release, Shadow of the Tomb Raider I'm expecting to be the first showing RTX via the shadow enhancements but it's probably going to be around a month or so before it's launched. Game uses DX12 and that means a dependency on Windows 10 RS5 which hopefully should hit RTM late this week or sometime next week for a full release in mid-October and that's a criteria for the ray tracing API in DirectX 12 and likely the RTX tech NVIDIA is drawing from it so I'm pretty certain that's the major blocker although the hardware itself isn't available just yet and the drivers and software side implementation for the games could perhaps be optimized even further if it's launched in a update after the game itself comes out. Probably to be followed by Battlefield 5 then in November with the current delay having shifted the earlier October release although I haven't looked up if that means RTX is going to be in from the get-go or if it'll be patched in later on but I heard they've been tuning and tweaking the implementation further since it's reveal so probably going to be patched in with one of the first major updates for the game then. As for Assassin's Creed Odyssey after a few searches it seems they have been improving the visuals further with among other things a new water shader improving the already impressive water effects from Origins even further. 🙂 Higher level of detail distance would be nice too but that's been a recurring thing since Assassin's Creed 2 at least and Origins does a pretty good job masking and hiding the transition even if some objects have a pretty short view distance before the texture and geometry complexity is reduced.

Voice acting is horrible.

Failed Witcher 3 copycat. How Ubisoft steals other successful companies such as CDProjekt RED original and unmatched ideas. Good thing is that they have trillions of dollars to pay defense attorneys and not get fined for the copyright infrignement.

I will use my power of choice, to not buy this.

They tried to put greek accent on the voices....well somewhat , actually they did somewhat a good job at it ! I kinda sound like that when i speak english... I would agree thought they should have used non accented english ! Either that or use ancient greek with subtittles as optional !

I hate games in ancient or medieval periods (incl fantasy) that speak with modern day accents. The worst game I can think of is Skyrim. While some of the Nordic accents seem OK, some is terribly immersion breaking. Kids running around speaking in contemporary American accents annoys the hell out of me and is totally out of place in a game like Skyrim.

If you remeber age of mythology(amasing rts btw) they had the greek faction speaking ancient greek well few words but still! Although they certainly did not get any greek voice actor for em their accent and pronunciation was so so funny it was making me chuckle every time ! Makes ne wonder how hard would have been to get that right....on the other hand the greek market is so small i do not blame em for not going the extra mile to get those right...since i bet only greeks could tell .!

AFAIK the voice actors are actually Greek. It sounds weird to me, because it makes it sound like if you were living in ancient Greece, you would get a weird accent. You wouldn't. People would sound perfectly normal to you. In other words, people in ancient Greece did not speak English, and therefore there was no accent. I don't know. It just weirds me out to no end. Maybe because I'm Greek. I guess it sounds more immersive if you don't happen to speak Greek, but if you do, it's just... freakin' weird 😛 I get the same thing with German, which is my second language. Whenever I play a game or watch a movie where German people talk in English among themselves but with a German accent, it just sounds wrong...
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/79/79740.jpg
I dont speak Greek so no idea how well its done in AC games, but they seem to put a lot of effort in authenticity of languages. Especially AC Origins, where we hear Latin and Greek (spoken depending on location), as well as ancient Egyptian, though doubt they could get that right. Pretty sure that Greek or Latin in those times (50-40) BC are very different from these spoken languages today.

@RealNC yeah i do not get that either since they talk english in the game so the bigger portion of the world can understand ... i do not think adding accent to english really help with the immersion hehe as i said they sound to me like when i talk english in the accent ! It does not bother me when i hear *german* accent on English ! And yes obviously they did not had accent since they where talking ancient greek :P @alanm Well the latin is a dead language you have to learn Latin almost from 0 sure you can not talk , now ancient Greek the modern Greek are directly connected to the ancient language every Greek that nowdays can actually read the the tablets from 300 ....500bc for example on the ancient agora bellow acient athens and actually read it even understand a big portion of it the main difficulty is that at that time the ancients where using only capital letters and had no spaces between words ... you will be surprised how many times i heard a word i never heard before i knew what the word meant cause i was able to break it down to the words it comes from and i knew their meaning in their ancient version !

https://www.resetera.com/threads/nvidia-publishes-rtx-2080-vs-gtx-1080-comparison.63672/page-47#post-12676541 Well now, I'm quite impressed. 🙂
New leaked Benchmark - 12 Games total + 2 synthetic Benchmarks https://videocardz.com/77983/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-ti-and-rtx-2080-official-performance-unveiled As always, leaked Benchmark, Benchmarks were made by Nvidia etc... Wait for real Reviews before making decision. on average (12 Games) The RTX 2080 is 44% faster then a GTX 1080 The RTX 2080 is 14% faster then a GTX 1080 Ti The RTX 2080 Ti is 26% faster then a RTX 2080 The RTX 2080 Ti is 43% faster then a GTX 1080 Ti
Close enough, sure it's only some games but that's a really good average. Yeah bit of a odd bump but I saw that info and recalled this post and that well that settles that although full reviews aren't quite available just yet but it's a really good start. EDIT: Ah yes this would be the official benchmark figures, well next week we can see how they stack up once the NDA is out of the way. 🙂
