The Persian theme is very appealing to me. 🙂
Conan The Barbarian
I still have to finish Valhalla, and there's no way in hell I'm buying a Ubisoft game on day one.

Yeah, Yeah. Must wait 6 months+ for the patches to optimise the game and some discount.
I did not bother with Valhalla the theme did not appeal. Btw was their a berserkers mode?

Well, I just refer to that part of the world as Persia for ease of use to me. As in before modern politics and the British empire. 🙂
But as the tale is in the 9th century, then yeah, its defo Persia.
There may be some good history programs on the countries that formed Persia and culture, its longevity etcetera on u-tube But if you have access to the BBC I player and do search I am sure something V good would come up. 🙂
EDIT: A quick google reveals that the partisans where superseded by the Seleucid /Parthian /Sasanian empire. Which lasted a 1k Yrs and so the story is an SPS empire story.
That's where I will leave it. 🙂

Yeah it was silly to think in modern borders. I searched a bit and found Baghdad was really close to the capital of the last Iranian Empire. But with the muslim conquest of Persia, Baghdad became the new major city. A capital of the world really, in those days.
I won't spoil anything but the year the game is set in, there is a major event in Baghdad that relates to the games.
Hope we get a discovery tour again because the history is pretty complicated.

sad.
