I wasn't that far off with my guesstimates. The urge......feeling tempted......must fight it......I can do this........

I must see a true benefit for me to spend an extra $1,200 or more on a new processor, motherboard and ram. I can't wait to see your benchmarks and test results.

Remember when the $700 mobos were the really fancy ones with monoblocks included? Those were good times.

The Steel Legend is now a ~$400.00 US board?!? The Taichi is now $863.00?!? 😱 These have to be placeholder prices. They're almost 2x what they should be.

Whether these prices make sense or not depends on socket longevity. I believe Intel hinted Raptor Lake was going to be a drop-in upgrade, didn't they?

Wouldn't touch Asrock with a barge pole. Had a X399 Taichi from them for my Threadripper and all I got was masses of DPC latency, which made games lag and audio distort. Switched to an Asus mobo and everything was fine.
