Lie in this mobo (z77extreme4) you can select 43,42,41,40 (or 42,41,40,39 ?) if i remember correctly or 41 for all cores.I use 41 for all cores. Boost or not boost it works always at 4,1 Ghz without drops. This is the "Non-K OC" feature at least in this boards, the multiplier was not unlocked (ofc....it's a non-k CPU).
On non-K CPU's, Intel allowed 4 bins above turbo boost. The maximum turbo frequency for your processor is 4.3ghz on a single core, 4.1ghz on all 4 cores. That applies to every non-k CPU on LGA1155.... It's not some special "feature".

Shouldn't at least part of the stuff you mentioned (ethernet driver) be able to run with legacy W10 drivers? I haven't even bothered installing most drivers from them. I believe I have the chipset driver, the intel RST and.. That's it.
I got the Intel one working and they did end up releasing a driver that works for that one later on, but I still can't get my secondary port working. It's Realtek or something. I don't know why they bother build in such features if they know in the next year it won't be supported. Good thing it doesn't really matter much to me. I used to use that port to connect to a router while being plugged into the modem directly using the Intel port. That way I could bypass the router's 100 Mbit limit and still access it directly. The modem/router combo device is a buggy piece of crap so I definitely didn't want to use that as the router.
Do you have a link for the feature, or a demonstration perhaps :P?
I'd be scared to try it if it's from ASRock, it might just burn down my house instead.

that' why i never build rig with Z series..:bang:

I think the best thing would be if Intel would just release a dam cpu without the useless igp and fully unlock over clocking and please don't say we have 2011 socket because not everyone can afford that platform.

Intel won't do that. If you think about the real estate on the CPU die that the GPU cores take up, and the cost of the GPU cores, you could probably have a 6 core socket 1151 processor. Intel simply won't allow that since there is socket 2011. Even if they did allow it, they'll charge a crap load more for it despite the fact the extra CPU cores are simply replacing the GPU cores. This is what happens when there is little competition. Let's just hope AMD turn their fortunes around with Zen and the subsequent variations, because without competition Intel will simply continue the trend of less impressive CPU generations balanced with making them good enough to be attractive for an upgrade. Basically they will do what is most profitable for them, which is dependent on what the competition offers.
Right. There is no competiton on sight. We need that AMD Zen win some share of the desktop market even if we buy Intel. Intel de facto monopoly on the desktop market is bad for customers: CPU prices stay high and performance upgrade from gen to gen is very limited. I think AMD has just lost an opportunity (again) in laptop CPU market: Poor OEM designs, single-channel RAM sabotage AMD’s Carrizo :(

This is not an AMD vs Intel Thread. Do not turn it into one.

I really do not like Asrock. I made the mistake of buying one of their fatal1ty motherboards. They have big signs saying windows 10 ready. But they've done nothing to ensure their software actually works on windows 10. Plus their software is utter rubbish anyway. I've had a couple of hardware issues I can only assume is motherboard related and their bios/software is less than intuitive. I'm never going near this brand again.
I have the Asrock Fatal1ty Z87 Professional and It seems to have problems with the audio(Creative Sound Core3D 7.1) and the USB solution. I have read about other users with Asrock Fatal1ty X79 Champion (same audio solution) with the same problems with no response from Asrock.

I've had a few asrock boards I the past, never had an issue with them...

My SB ZxR is often not detected either. Sometimes it's detected as a Soundcore 3D instead. I spoke to them about it, same as I said before, they played dumb and ignored my complaints about that known issue... repeatedly. It didn't have this problem in my old Gigabyte X58. From what I've read this is most common in ASRock and MSI boards.

Same here. Flawless experience so far for me.

IDK these new mobos but i own an Asrock Z77 with this Non-K OC feature it works perfect with my non K 3770 (3.4Ghz) since many months: 4.1 Ghz locked in the 4 cores working perfectly. 100% stable
Pls share non-k overclock bios. All links expried. I could not find it anywhere.
