Based on that it looks like mobo manufacturers are really liking what they are seeing with Ryzen 3000. This ought to indicate single core performance ever closer to Intel's top models. On the other hand Intel can't manufacture as many CPUs as it should and thus raised the prices, meaning less people can afford their stuff, leaving more market for AMD. Mobo manufacturers would love to count on that. Let's hope this is also true with OEMs. When I'm reading brochures from electronics chain stores, it's still mostly only Intel inside, with some lone AMD based models here and there.

Doesn't seem that far off. There is 6 X470 boards that they advertise today, and a whooping 12 Z390 boards. 7 does not seem that ourageous.

As much as the new Ryzen might be good vs previous two gens, i'll wait for next Ryzen gen, the same way first Ryzen releases were kinda meh (the 1700 3.9GHz i had vs my current 2700X is not very good (in AC Origins a 4GHz 1700 average FPS is lower than a standard 2700X min FPS)) vs Ryzen Gen2 i expect the same now as they need to have a reason to sell whatever next ones will be, plus my 2700X reaches 4.5GHz (Boost not forced at all times) and can get 3600MHz RAM CL14 fine too, however there's no point since my GTX1080 is pretty bad to handle 3440x1400 and the extra power draw (not temps as those are pretty fine) is not even close to be worth the small gains due to the GTX1080 being a huge Bottleneck for this resolution.
But is nice to see new motherboards, i'm always on the watch for a white one to match my H440 case 🙂

Yes, good point on that improvement in the future for Zen2+ (Ryzen 4000). Although, for me personally, if there's a reasonable performance bump over my current build, I'd still give it a try. Damn upgrade itch...

I wanted that was well. Two full PCIE slots along with at least one M.2. When I built my Ryzen 1800x based build I couldn't find anything mATX that wasn't very low end.

I was wondering if DDR5 would make it onto these boards and it might be a close call i dunno though but i think there could be DDR5 X570's.
Maybe at first we will see mixed ram slots, like 2 DDR4s and 2 DDR5s slots like we've seen before.

There's a difference (rather a big one) .
For the 1st gen ryzen, it was AMD's completely new cpu design after a very long time. It was natural that Ryzen+ would be polished to that extent that it would be noticable. But, incase of ryzen2, they will be working on an already somehow mature platform.

Just you, it has 5 expansion slots, and could do 6, possibly even 7 if the M.2 wasn't there.

It's becoming increasingly difficult not to be super excited about what AMD has coming down the pipe with the 3000 series this year, but I'm doing my best to be cautiously optimistic.

I've been eyeing ASRock for a while now as they've been making solid and reasonably priced products but my main choice will always be Gigabyte.

I'm actually paying fairly close attention to Zen 2, so a system-wide upgrade may happen soon.
However, I'm not at all interested in Windows 10. It's a conundrum.

You don't have to use windows 10 to use zen 2, that being said, you should, unless you wish to be left behind on outdated software, security risk ridden and continue to lose software support for whatever programs you are using as the years go by.
Best thing to do is get over whatever issue you have with windows 10, get use to it, and call it a day, just like everyone who used windows XP, and whichever version of windows individual people liked beforehand and never wanted to upgrade from.

Windows 10 is actually a pretty good OS. Your smart phone spies on you more than windows does and we tell our phones to do it. Is W10 great? No. But it does work well.

They need a reason to sell Ryzen 4000, if not a worthy upgrade why would people bother, regarding the platform being mature that's not entirely true as we're going to have up to 16 Cores this time, not to mention rumors of PCIe 4.0 and pretty much confirmed DDR5 for 2020 which is when Ryzen 4000 arrives, unless people are on old/weak CPUs or have money to spare it's not a very good time to upgrade if you have a Ryzen 2000 or Intel 8000 when we will get huge upgrades in 2020, that goes for Intel GPUs too and probably PCIe 4.0 Radeon and GeForce.

Be awesome if mobos could come out with swappable memory slots. Even if possible, we know that would never happen.
