This seems to be the best card for 1080p ultra gaming. Also the top spec'd for e-sports. Let's see how it performs when it releases though.

The low-key way that AMD released the 5500 and now 5600 is really quite bizarre after the fanfare that surrounded the 5700 and XT. It's like they've given up against the 1650/1660 Super cards.

I feel like the midrange cards are always this way?

From what heard card will be nearing rtx 2060 perfrmance so 1660's will be history. Amd only needs to price is right.

Price it right and sell them. The 1660 series hasn't been a great purchase since it launched and yet the 1660 itself has a higher marketshare than the 580/570 combined on steam stats. AMD has a problem that even when it does have a better card at a better price point it can't seem to get them in customers hands. Fiasco's like what's happening with Radeon VII doesn't help their image either.. it's like soon as people start recognizing AMD has good drivers, it turns out they have entire enthusiast cards that are broken.

pricing will definitely determine its fate.

Probably will have a better pricing than joke RX5500XT. I settled for an RX580, but it will be fun to see the next 2 years.

You should've got 8gb 580.

If they get the pricing right, then AMD will be on to a winner. AMD missed a step by not being more competitive with their 5500 pricing, and Nvidia flooding the market with a silly amount of cards meant AMD couldn't find a niche for their card. They really need to get the 5600 price right to avoid more complacency from Nvidia. 2060 performance at 1660 Super pricing would be great, but the 5500 cards might need a drop a little to stay relevant in that case.

Yea, the 5600 XT seems to be like a 5700 with 192bit memory, they can pretty much do anything they want about performance, now the key is the price! Asrock Phantom will be a good card,3 fan and using a smaller pcb, that means awesome cooling performance.

Why? I play at 1080p and games barely use 2Gb of vram anyway. This is just another 2 year GPU anyway, hopefully AMD will get up on their feet after Raja f*ed them up good.

You know, some engines just fill (almost) the vram available even if they don't need it. I played Assasins Creed Syndicate with a 2Gb VRAM card and it filled to the brim and some even went into RAM. The game played fine with high FPS. You could also just drop a couple settings, as in most modern games you can't distinguish the difference between High and Very High or Ultra, just the FPS drop... I played Mafia 3 and barely passed 2Gb VRAM, Assassins Creed Origins don't use much either, any game that bumps the limit I'll just take some settings down. I don't mind playing on medium settings, as long as the game is entertaining. PS: This card was 158€, to get something with 8Gb I had to spend 200€ for a RX570. So, nope! PS2: RX5500 is 250€, so AMD can keep them.
