Nice to see they include that holder. Now all i need a GTX 880.

How do they cool VRM and VRAM that's on the same side with GPU? That new twinturbo has no heatsinks other than that black thingy. EDIT: Ahaa... You are supposed to use heat pads and the those areas are supposed to have contact with the heatsink (though I don't quite understand how that's possible judging by how that twinturbo looks).

Same idea as with Thermal Pads on a Card that has Ram on the back and a Backplate. It's basicly a Backplate with cooling fins.

I'm not talking about the back but the side where the gpu is located. That "backplate" seems to be rather excessive though.

Funny how source for thermal image is Guru3D and there is not one GTX 770 review here that feature thermal imaging section.

I think the idea is that the backplate is cooling the PCB enough to keep the VRMs and memory cool without being directly mounted on them, which is why the backplate is so large. Interesting idea, if it works. Take a look at the new Hybrid unit, using the same backplate design. Looks like it would be much easier to use in SLI/Xfire applications as well: http://www.arctic.ac/us_en/products/cooling/vga/accelero-hybrid-ii-120.html

Holy .... I didn't even notice that. They actually photoshopped it and did not ask our consent to use our thermography. http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/gigabyte_geforce_gtx_780_ti_windforce_3x_review,9.html So they took the GBT 780 Ti Thermal image, photo shopped the M marking points out of the thermal image and then tagged it as GTX 770. Then the 2nd comparison image that shows lower temperatures is a complete fake, they photoshopped that in there. I'll drop them an email tomorrow to see what they have to say.

They're actually using the same pictures for the hybrid cooler as well, but the caption say they were taken while using the hybrid instead of the accelero.

Finally they got there, better later than never.

I didn't even notice that when I was looking at the images last night. Damn nice catch there. Looks like they did it for all the new coolers....using the same images. They just changed the captions for each cooler. If you look at the second image, you can really tell it's fake. You shouldn't be able to see the memory chips or mounting holes for the GPU cooler, if the backplate was installed.

At the end of the day the Coolers are still beasts and the best VGA Air Coolers you can get. At 30% they are completely inaudible and keep temps still 10-15C lower than with the stock cooler. And that's no BS, cuz i been using Arctic VGA Coolers for YEARS! (and all that talk about crappy heatsinks for VRM is pure BS aswell)

I'm interested to see the performance of the hybrid one

They shopped a chunk of green onto the CPU cooler in the bottom image too :P.

At 30%? My Accelero Mono Plus is inaudible outside my case at 100%. My first AC cooler was the NV Silencer 5 rev 2. Been using them ever since. The VRM heatsinks that are packaged with the newer coolers are crap though, as is the adhesive. When I installed the Mono Plus on my first 660, I had to order new VRM heatsinks because AC's "adhesive" wouldn't set up. Everytime I turned the card over, the VRM heatsinks just fell off (even after 18hrs). I ended up ordering copper heatsinks that use 3M thermal tape to attach them.

Old Xtreme III is gone from shops, IV is not yet in stock and summer is incoming. Time for some retro gaming. Miami Hotline, Fantasy General, perhaps Dwarf Fortress??

Why? you have a custom cooled 460gtx, no problems or do you have a new sys 🤓

you KNOW I do 😉

Using the Adhesive that came with the Twin Turbo 2 on my current 680 and they havn't fell off yet. Using it since June 4th 2012. I cleaned all surfaces with 97% Alcohol. Perhaps that makes a difference.
