If Intel continues to delay these, by the time they release, they will be competing with RDNA3 and Ada Lovelace.
Not to mention, they might also face a market flooded with used Ampere and RDNA2 from mining rigs.
Intel missed the oportunity to solidify some of the GPU market.
Not really, this shortage will most likely last couple more years, especially since next-gen GPUs are probably going to offer better mining perf/W. If nvidia makes enough mining improvements, I am sure they could extend GPU shortage until next mining bubble.

True, cards prices are falling, bookmarked a vry nice 12gb 3060 for £516 last night.
Also gonna be a used gpu flood this year no doubt.

GPU market will collapse that is more than certain . If Intel will release Arc with the coming flood , it will be disaster of the decade for them.
They really need to release it soon before other major players make their moves and market is hungry as fu**.
Regardless of if the mining craze continues or not, Intel did miss perhaps the most profitable portion of it. Although the EU and the USA, among others, are just sitting on their hands and not doing anything about the crypto scheme, other areas have already places restrictions on it or are seriously considering them. I reckon Intel did miss the very peak of the craze where everything was sold, no matter the price. Although that being said, the manufacturers didn't harvest the maximum profit from the very beginning, leaving that initially to the retail and scalpers. When Intel finally gets its products out, it's actually a somewhat riskier market, even if there's demand. Of course there are plenty of gamers looking for an upgrade, but gamers aren't as eager to pay bloated prices as miners.
If Intel was to release these cards in 2021 or early 2022, they would be lauded as heroes.
People would even overlook some early driver issues, if they could get a good GPU at decent prices.
But at this rate, when they release these cards, they be inconsequential at best. Or a joke at worst.

So long as Intel gets this released in time for reviews before RDNA3 and Lovelace and offer compelling prices, they'll be fine. This of course is assuming the delay will actually yield a significant enough improvement via driver updates.
The delay could work well for consumers too, since that means more time for production. If enough units are produced, there's a good chance scalpers won't reap any profits.

Yep and whatever you like AMD or nVidia or both or hate them all you can't deny both Ampere and DRDNA 2 if sold at MSRP or slightly under (used in a normal market) are great ***** cards.
