Still, motherboards went the same route with little to no improvement for 50%+ price increase etc. Yes I know it's R&D but same applies to Apple and ironically this is not exactly the company that will sell you anything cheap, as we all know. Based on PC market bullshit , that new M2 mbpro should cost $2999 starting config. It doesn't.
All this just further proves that PC GPU price increase was unjustified (unlike Leather Jacket wanted us to believe). Almost all tech prices remained similar last 2-3 years and only were adjusted for inflation in some cases (10% or so). Nothing crazy like 50% or even 100% (in some markets) price increase for PC GPUs.

You'd have to compare node jumps to really make that fair, no? The processors here are on a 2 year old node - a revised version of the last generation. Nvidia moved from Samsung to TSMC 4nm and their chip is 15% larger than the max here. Don't get me wrong - I think Nvidia is definitely overcharging and overstating the adjustment but unless you find someone offering 75B transistor chips on 4nm and not increasing the price much, its kind of a moot point. In this case it's arguably the opposite since Apple supposedly wanted 4nm for these but it was too costly and the A16 Bionic on 4nm is supposedly 2.4x the cost of the A15. Also for Nvidia really the biggest MSRP price increase is 30% - everything after that can be attributed to a bunch of different market forces.

Its so hard to read all these press statements lately with their bullshit benchmarks and comparisons. Getting really tired of how bad the companies are getting with this shit. They need to be held accountable as its just getting worse as companies are trying to justify crazy price increases to protect their bottom line during a recession.
