let me guess,4k reads stuck at 65mb people will fall for the same trap as they did with early pcie4 drives buy drives that will only perform better in sequential transfers then nand and controllers keep getting better and in the end you have new 3.0 drives loading faster than those pricey 4.0 from 2-3 years ago.not to mention the cost of new pcie platforms. this is a dramless 3.0 drive, but on the newest bics nand [SPOILER]

Yeah i didn't really notice much performance doing from a Samsung 970 to a 980 Pro, besides ready and wright speeds.

cause performance increases are very incremental contrary to what common people believe, they do not double with every pcie version I do recommend tweaktown if you want to know what's going in the ssd game

It's pretty crazy that my soon 4 years old Intel Optane 900p is WAY faster in most workloads than any m.2 ssd to date. Maybe my best storage investment ever. Using it for OS and most played games. ~340 MB/s 4k random read @ QD=1

I am happy with a cheap silicon power pci-e 3.0 4x with HMB 🙂

I got 2 weeks ago a Samsung 980 1tb non pro dramless too for gaming install drive 0 , I see the sn570 is 0.8 sec faster . Hehe next time I will do a bit more research their price is really close 😛

I'll just stick with my 970 Evo till it dies thanks.

Considering a 550 MB/s SSD is only 1 second slower than a Gen3 NVME, i wonder what lightning speed this adds... 0.2 of a second?

And there is PCIe bandwith VS what the hardware can do (controler, nand etc )... Most of the time they are not matching, and so we have illogical things, like PCIe 3 M2 that are faster in real life than some PCIe 4 M2 as you said. But this PCIe 5 M2 is still a step in a good way... Let's see future product (and keep our PCIe 3 or 4 one for now).

That tells us that bottleneck is somwhere else 🙂
