Well something has to give out for 200Hz. At it will be the resolution.

Well for starters its not 16:9 1080p either. And its not gonna look bad either considering its MVA. Better then TN panels, just under IPS. 200HZ for an ultrawide is awesome. My 29 21:9 can only do 80hz from 60hz as an IPS panel.

VA panel, do they still suffer from terrible dark color ghosting ?

The problem with mva/va panels is while they can have great black/contrast levels, the viewing angels are bad, which negates the black levels when looking at it from anwhere but the center. 200hz...why? 100/120/144hz more than sufficient for most people. Also I bet running that panel at 200hz will degrade image quality. I'm personally gonna wait until we get some 21:9, 3440x1440, gsync, hdr monitors in the market. Until then I think the Swift PG279Q is the best monitor considering price and performance.

I think you will have to turn your head in order to see the edges of this monitor if you play games especially with this 21:9 ratio. The curved part is more the problem for me because I play in well lid room and as soon as some source of light hits the monitor there will be a big line of light all across the monitor which is annoyins as hell. Also strange resolution should have been something with 1440 atleast.

I want the Samsung 34" hdr, freesync monitor. Not exactly 144hz but 100hz.

I bought this 2 days ago and the monitor is beautiful and sturdy however it has the worst ghosting and colour bleed I have ever seen. Currently negotiating with AOC to fix or replace with a new one or better model. I don't think it is a fault myself, I think it is a design flaw.

As an owner of a Acer Z35, here's a few things to know: 1. For gaming, the UW 1080p vs the typical UW 1440p monitors isn't anything you notice at all. There's a bit more aliasing, but with the lower res you can afford to crank up AA a bit more to compensate for it. For desktop apps, however, a screen this gigantic (and it is gigantic) does feel like it should be higher res. That being said, for an older guy like me whose eyes aren't so great, I don't mind it that much. 2. Assuming this new monitor is using the same MVA panel as my Z35, the 200hz refresh is pretty much just hype. The actual panel can't refresh high enough to keep up with 200hz, so you get a crapton of ghosting - and I am nto talking about "it will bug people who are sensitive to ghosting", I mean it's flat out easily visible to anyone. On the Z35, it has an overdrive feature to get the pixels to refresh faster, but even with that anything above 144hz is really bad when it comes to ghosting. That being said, 144hz is still faster than any other large format monitor out there, so if you are looking for a high refresh rate, this is still the best option out there in its class. 3. Also assuming this is the same panel, be aware that MVA still has some viewing angle issues. It's nowhere near as bad as the vg248qe I replaced, but leaning back in your chair will still show some of the typical moire stuff. It's not a dealbreaker, but know going in that MVA is not IPS by any stretch.
