Would be amazing to see some comparsion between other 43" panels. Currently I have Acer Predator CG437KP and I love this screen except ghosting effects and lack of HDMI 2.1

Dang, just bought the LG 43" 4K monitor. It's a IPS @60Hz monitor, although it's what my APU can handle. I guess one can't have the cake and eat it too.

Can anyone explain what is the point of HDR1000 with no dimming zones? Doesnt the whole screen light up any time something bright is shown?

Guess the point is to write HDR1000 in the specs. Looking for any logic behind that is pointless.

IPS is known for the problem with partially lit or dark scenes to have "IPS glow" which is just the crappy edge-lighting. VA fairs better in the dark (still not great) but has issues with high contrast movement (ghosting). but in an edge-lit monitor would also have issues with high contrast bright scenes (like a view from a canyon going in and out of shadow) because there is no local dimming. unless you have OLED, any type of FALD will be worth the price vs size differential with this or the ROG set. the best types of FALD use a larger array of smaller LEDs, but at that point OLED is cheaper.

VA = Hard pass. That guarantees black/dark smearing, and poor viewing angles. IPS viewing angles are bad enough, I can't tolerate worse than that. It doesn't help that outside of OLED screens any HDR rating is worthless, even HDR 1000 isn't going to be anywhere in the same galaxy of HDR performance as per sub-pixel lighting.

No such things exists, and won't exist for quite some time. A 3080 gets kicked in the dick at 1440p, and a 3090 doesn't perform that much above a 3080.

It has dimming zone, but those are edge lit, otherwise it can't receive the HDR1000 rating.

I hope so. Thats what I am waiting on. 5120x1440p 100hz+ HDR OLED super wide 49 inch. I sold my 1080p 49 inch Samsung. Am back on my 35 inch 3440x1440 100hz for now.
