They have had names since the third version (cupcake) and have been desserts since. The first 2 never had names at all.

Most certainly! I hope they will bring the update to my Gnex. Such awesome device even after 2 years. If not, i can pick up another phone at the end of this year. Hopefully Google releases a Nexus 5 or something.

I didn't know Eclair was a dessert.
A big selling point of Nexus series phones is the software support. I believe even my old PoS Galaxy Nexus will receive the 5.0 update. Not that I care since I use custom ROMs anyway. I'll be waiting for Cyanogen version of 5.0.
