So, this has to do with AMD having a new CEO how? Oh, and my FX 8350 more than holds it own against your 3770K so there. :infinity: Besides, unless you want to give me a free cpu and motherboard from Intel, I won't even touch that. Anyways, it will be interesting to see where AMD is even one year from now. 🙂

World of Warcraft heavily favors IPC over core count. That's why Intel is so much better. There's also no indication as to what settings were used which, to me, makes the results very questionable. It's very easy to skew results using various settings.

Their GPU division isn't the problem and is OK compared to the competition imo. Main problem IMO is that they've been slacking behind Intel for way to long now.
You can say that again. If someone gave me a the fastest cpu amd make and a motherboard to go with it for free I wouldn't even touch it. The 2 year old one I have is miles ahead of anything AMD has and probably uses 50 watts less power.
I love such people. Not knowing intel's market strategies (read: abuse methods). Not knowing past and reason why things are way they are. Even worse are hypocrites which say that AMD cpu which runs games at 90fps are bad because with intel they can run it at 120fps while they have crappy 60Hz screen. And worst are those who believe they have use for 6core i7 but only play games which runs exactly same fps with dual core Pentium. (just because they do benchmarks) So, which is reality of yours? And do not forget this topic is about Lisa's position shift and not about your blind hatred.

This isn't an Intel vs AMD thread. This thread is about AMD getting a new CEO....again. AMD and Intel both have good products when used for the tasks that actually take advantage of their strengths. come on chaps lets not get this thread closed due to trolling the quote above says it all, so lets move on to the subject. ooooOOO look at me being all sensible, makes a change though lol.

Where did I say it was faster??????? :stewpid: I am a fan of AMD, I will not deny that but, this blatant fanboy **** is just stupid. Oh well, I guess your giggle post ain't quite what you wanted it to be. (I thought it was funny too but, oh well, guess you were just joking. :bang: ) Edit: I did say that my 8350 holds its own against someone's 3770K. Also this is about a new president and CEO of AMD not about whose CPU is faster. I am curious to see how this new CEO works out for AMD? And I hope the new CEO makes the CPU department redesign their CPUs and make them based off of their flagship CPU of the early to mid 2000s.

What specifically do you mean by basing them off the early to mid 2000's? Off their architecture? I remembering reading somewhere that the new processors that are coming will be SMT instead of CMT based. Personally, I am hoping the change in CEO does not derail the coming processors.

Like the Athlon 64 etc. Because Intel designed the Core i series off of the Pentium III.

As far as my concern for the future of AMD, that does put a better light on it. (All I had to do is turn around to see the door from the wall. 🙂 ) Thanks, I guess I have not been keeping up on that aspect of the industry all that much. It is good to know that this was pretty much planned from the start. Hopefully, 5 years from now or so, we will be able to look back and be amazed at far AMD has come from where they were. (We will see.) Oh well, one thing these threads did to me or for me was motivate an upgrade. (Did not need one but, I picked up a used R9 290 Gigabyte reference model for some crossfire action just because.) Got it from an Amazon fulfilled vendor so just in case it does not work as planned, I can always return it if need be. Edit: Just too belay and why did I get the reference version comments: I did it so the heat would get blown out the back instead of in the case. My Fractal Design R3 is designed more for quietness than anything else.
