17 years huh, incredible. Imagine the things this guy saw. Almost all the great ATI cards, the takeover, the 4xxx and the 7xxx series, the R9 series, all the way uptil the 2nd generation Zen. Incredible.

This guys should be removed if it was his idea to add X to the end of the old/new/rehashed AMD cards. Or it was another sabotage like Raja Koduri did. Ruining Vega, Selling it to Intel, leaving AMD then working for Intel. Time will tell.....

isn't this the guy that set up the hd 2x00 advertising and made it out to be better than it actually was?

Money say's he will join INTEL like the other trader that was in charge with AMD GPU's Raja Koduri. God I hate Raja, that dude was sketchy.

Why? Because he allowed AMD's GPU division to stay competitive against Nvidia with 1/5th the budget?

So, is he the one responsible for the incessant use of the letter X?

lol these comments are on a roll. Sorry Hilbert for hijacking this story. On a serious note I do kind of understand that AMD had a small amount of money to support their GPU side of the business and it can affect the GPU team negativity. Actually I don't think any company would of made it this far with the money issues and illegal play of INTEL and other company's for hurting AMD. Moral of story, Things could be worse for AMD like bankruptcy.

I mean money is probably why he is.

Probably a good move on his part (career wise) and for amd, As Good as chris hook has been in the past, RTG's marketing while he was in charge was pretty...... well "edgy" to say the least, I'd put more blame on peoples high expectation on chris hook, than raja

"320x240 was considered ‘high res’" 320x240 high res in 2001? C'mon man, no bullshit please.

Yep, he missed a decade comfortably ... and even back in 1993. VGA 320x240 was considered standard resolution (wolf3d, doom) and SVGA was considered high res (640x480 or 800x600)

In era of 8-bit computers 320x200 or 320x240 was not considered "high res", it was named "high resolution". Because standard resolution for games was 160x200 2bit-per-pixel w/ color matrix having 4x8 pixels and 00/01/10/11 allowed for 4 colors (bound to given 4x8 matrix). Matrix next to it could have any other 4 colors from available selection. 320x200 achieved resolution at cost of bit depth and so 1bit-per-pixel w/ matrix having 8x8 pixels and 0/1 allowed for 2 colors. Matrix limitation was same as above. Since computer like C64 had 16 colors in total, it would be technically possible to have 320x200 resolution with all 16 colors on any pixel if it had 4 times as large memory used for graphic buffers and 4 times as wide processing data structures in part of chip dealing with images (to do it without performance impact). That means C64 which had 64kB of RAM would need additional 32kB + those chip changes. C128 kind of achieved it but not fully as it aimed for other improvements which allowed 640x400 interlaced, and missed just a bit to have 640x400 non-interlaced.

Or maybe he means tractor... 😱
Beat me to it. We all know he's secretly from the inter-dimensional alien species of tractor people. Any coincidence the product called BULLDOZER was what nearly destroyed AMD and left them unable to compete with Intel for a full decade? I think not! The tractor people and bulldozer people are related.

What use would Intel have for a marketing guy? From a company that did not do too well in marketing its products?

well he was good at selling inferior Radeon HD 2x00's so maybe he can pull the wool over security issues and the ihs/die tim issue.
