Even though I have one now, I'm not sure more than those updates are needed... it's not like that APU is the killer gaming chip that needs to match every upcoming game's release with a game ready patch 😉:D

That's exactly what i was thinking. Maybe Intel wants a GPU driver team who performs better than AMD GPU (sleeping) Tiger team. It's not a big challenge if their goal is something different than adding social connectors or fancy color backgrounds. LOL

Hilbert can you ask AMD what on earth is happening with their drivers for the 2500U and 2700U as we are still using the very first release drivers and it's been nearly 10 months now and there is zero support from either HP/others and AMD they don't even answer their emails, or forums questions too. It is very very frustrating to have a new platform with absolute no support and no one seems to give a fly fk. The platform is broken you have screen corruption and new games won't even run due to the vastly out of date drivers and pressure needs to be applied to AMD and the OEM to get their finger out and do something. Thanks.

Maybe because they still do not have proper support for Vulkan on large number of iGPUs which have HW features required by Vulkan and therefore should be supported?

That's what happens when you buy a pre built HP computer Dazz you end up reliant on the 3rd party vendor. You cant blame AMD for that. Hope they pull their finger out soon for you. I do think a driver update every 12 weeks for this platform is plenty.

Wish it was just HP, but Dell, Acer and lenovo are all in the same boat. Basically it's all mobile Ryzen platforms.

What's so difficult about releasing drivers when needed? I don't really see the point in a scheduled update for a piece of software that is perpetually evolving. Doesn't really affect me though - I don't have any APUs, and my only AMD GPUs are all pretty outdated.

When you buy OEM products like that the support comes from the OEM--very similar to the way it works with laptops--well, most laptops, anyway. HP is the company to write in your case, imo, as your driver updates may come exclusively through them. Have you checked the last WHQL Adrenalin driver release from AMD to see if your product is supported there?

The only way to get the drivers to work from AMD is to force install them as Vega 8, if i use the APU drivers it works great but i can't use the software function and you tube etc crashes no doubt due to specific files being way out of date since i am sure the drivers weren't designed to work with the control panel 17.7 and you lose the ability to control the brightness of the screen. Since thats how old the drivers are there are no Adrenalin revisions available, they are should i say Alpha drivers thats already horribly unstable. However i did install the Adrenalin Edition 18.5.1 for the AMD FX mobile APU and it works great, except the AMD control panel refuses to load up as it's not correctly identify the graphics card but i do have screen brightness control and if i launch an application it flickers for about 10 seconds and then it's fine. So if they added the hardware ID into the drivers the software would install correctly and everything would be great. Prior to Ryze, AMD provided drivers for ALL AMD Mobile APU's and mobile graphics there are no changes they really need to make to them, my HP 4500M i could always go to the AMD site and download the latest drivers without issues. All AMD Ryzen mobile APU's have two hardware ID's one for the 2500U and another for the 2700U, TDP etc doesn't matter since this is handled by the motherboard and it's BIOS and there is no specific memory types configurations etc like you would with a mobile discrete graphics card. So where it might be applicable it's the OEM that provides the drivers it's graphics built into the die and should have no real bearing if provided by AMD or the OEM. However again this is not specific to HP, but Acer, Dell and lenovo none of them have Adrenalin drivers. Which if it was an OEM sure yeah i could see it being their fault but every OEM??? This to me sounds more like AMD is not passing their driver builds along. I may also try the Windows CAT drivers again but they typical do not provide the AMD control panel either which is why their drivers are so small and like before have to manually force them to install them as Vega 8, since Vega mobile is not in the drivers at all.
