who even buys a vishera cpu these days. bundling them with their FX cpu's is stupid. Just bundle them with the higher end APU's.

So will this be the first game to use DirectX12 ?

First AAA released title, I think so. There are a few UE4 games that use DX12 already though, most of them are indie/greenlight games, or unreleased like Fable Legends and AoS.

I cannot agree more. This absolutely makes no sense. Most recent and especially newer APU's will outperform most Vishera CPU's. The game has almost more value than those CPU's. More like Hitman gets bundled with AMD FX CPU's, just to get rid of the remaining stock. 🙂

and i cannot disagree more. an apu outperforming an fx6300 or fx8320? are you joking? http://www.technikaffe.de/cpu_vergleich-amd_a10_7870k-549-vs-amd_fx_6300-218 by selling the hitman key you can get those vishera cpus for less than 100€, thats a pretty sweet deal. @Hilbert are you sure the bundle will contain the full hitman game and not just episode 1?
The APU's don't out perform them but they are just simply more value. People are still buying APU's for budget builds, FX's barely so. Its like bundling several DVD movies with an old CRT TV, it just makes no sense.

more value? why? the integrated gpu of the apu is to slow to power games like hitman, so you will need a powerful dedicated gpu anyway.

Too slow? Have you seen what an APU can do? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv57qDXpEPU Its a very very tempting choice for people on a very strict choice. If you're buying an FX you're basically overspending for an outdated and doomed platform with a guaranteed bottleneck in just about every application.

That analogy doesn't make any sense. And why would they bundle it with an APU? Would that suggest they are suggesting you use the graphics part of the APU to run hitman? I don't doubt it might be able to, but APU's are not meant for AAA games, they just arn't. FX CPU's paired with an AMD/Nvidia dedicated graphics card is, so logically it makes a lot more sense to pair the game with some AMD GPUs and FX CPUs But seriously your analogy...what? Are you trying to say that FX CPUs, that perform better then the APUs, are somehow the "older, outdated" technology in this aspect? older i'll give you, outdated makes no sense due to them performing better...so...what? Not only that by DVD with a CRT TV are a match for eachother, your analogy in terms of odd paired items would be a blu-ray player with a CRT TV

Your "reasoning" on that, the bottleneck and outdated and doomed platform, all would apply to the APU as well In your comparison, you just stated: AMD FX is bottlenecked but performs better then APUs but APUs are the better choice because they are not bottlenecked. ------ What????? AMD FX is outdated and doomed platform which makes APUs that perform less is not outdated and doomed platform. ------- What???????? as to overspending, i don't understand that considering how cheap the FX processors are, a similar APU in performance would cost just the same if not more, so........WHAT?!?!?!?! To put an analogy of what you're saying, is basically staying that a console that came out in 2010 is outdated and doomed compared to a console that came out in 2012 because of it's age, even though the console that came out in 2012 is half the speed, but the console that came out in 2012 has a motion controller (in this analogy that would be the GPU aspect of the APU). That somehow makes the 2010 outdated and doomed even though the 2010 system performs better and can get a much, much better motion controller (dedicated graphics card) then the 2012 one comes with. Yeah.....

oh come on he has it set to med and in test range sure its playable like that but...I would rather have a cheap amd card you can use mantle or even a used 750 ti that you could actually play mp with at higher settings. it's ok but nothing to write home about. that said you cant really knock a game bundle with hardware

I think Street Fighter 5 uses DX12.

Nope it's DX11 only, though I suppose one could try to force the D3D12 flag if the UE4 build is new enough to support it. 🙂

People still buy FX, I mean I only just got mine at the end of 2015.. not everyone has huge pc budgets and instead choose to buy the best they can afford.

Hitman what? Are they giving you the base release game with a couple missions, or the season pass full thing?

Sure they do. Getting a fx8320 chip + Hitman and you still save 50-70€ compared to simple locked Intel i5. For many that is a great deal.
