This line would really benefit from models with an iGPU. There are lots of pro applications that don't require AAA game crunching GPU performance.

Yeah I agree don't see much adoption here until that is the case. Course not long and we will have raven Ridge out, end of year, which honestly not sure why they just didn't wait to make those the "PRO" chips.

True, but on the other hand, rumors seem to suggest the APUs will have pretty overkill graphics for pro applications. You don't need an RX 550 to run MS Excel, Photoshop, or 2 monitors. As long as it is priced well and is efficient, that's all that really matters.

Have they fixed the gcc compilator issue? Or the PRO cpu'a are going to be PRO on paper only?

Well i hope they sell well.
Sure, the Linux community has waited those milestone cpus by decades so far.

How many concurrent compilations would you run on an 8core CPU? If you need to build a compile server I suggest you to get threadripper as base requirement.

My OLD i7 3770k is able to handle any concurrent compilation and it never hangs. As I ve previously written elsewhere AMD has still not provided a fix for that and I am starting to think that they do not want as it will be a bad propaganda in recalling all their ryzens. The threadrippers are not affected by this bug.

segfault error? It's been fixed in newer CPU batches. Anyone who affected by it can exchange affected CPU with new one.

Good to hear, there were months that AMD did not say anything about. This however is the response of one of the ryzen customers on the reddit forums : "I hope they make the RMA process easier for this issue. I contacted AMD support 2 days ago, no response. Given that I'm in Europe I guess I can RMA via the seller as well, but bah!" Just I was guessing there was no offcial claim, AMD knows they have released defective cpus but they did not say anything public about. This is for all those that say Intel are criminals...business is business and no one of the players here is better of the other.

Go for a compile queue, is carter and more efficient.

You might not know it, but all cpus released by Intel and AMD have *bugs* in them. Intel commonly calls those bug descriptions "errata". CPU bugs are as common as software bugs, but the public only hears about the ones that actually affect the performance or operation of certain software. Routinely, the cpu compilers map around the bugs, and often they can be worked around through microcode bios updates, so they aren't generally much of a deal for either company. And, future revisions eliminate the more serious of those bugs, routinely. The verification processes that Intel and AMD use are exhaustive--but not perfect--as nothing in software/hardware ever is "perfect" or "bug free"...;)
