It looks like AM4 has several years to go looking at these prices for AM5.

5900x->7900x 550eur->750eur at launch
x570->x670e 200->300eur
ddr5 2x the price of ddr4
it's going to be fun to be an early am5 adopter.

Doesn't make any sense. Probably a 50% tax for the privilege of buying it before it launches.

I don't believe the French person running that "Cdiscount" store has checked his/her English dictionary to see what "discount" means.

Looks kind of like parallel import pricing.

Typical pre-release predatory pricing. Once in volume, these will never sell above MSRP. This isn't 2020.

The moment they are on Amazon, il know.
Not sure about other countries but its rare anybody can top Amazon uk for prices.

and please, if you think you're so much better,why always use insults instead of facts.
cheapest mid-range ddr5 (5600) is 186eur,so it's already quite a difference. high end ddr4 vs high-end ddr5 it's twice the price,like I said.
lol
find me 32g of ddr5 for that price.

So I compared it to the first DDR4 listing of the same branding, at $125:

If my math is right (and I don't know, this is a pretty tough calculation), 150 divided by 2 is not 125.
Honestly, assuming the DDR5 module has ECC (probably does), it's well worth the extra $25.
We too can arbitrarily cherry-pick results. I picked the first 32GB DDR5 kit that showed up in Amazon, for $150:

@cucaulay malkin you are beating the dead horse. ddr5 performs so much better in cpu bound scenes that isnt even worth thinking about ddr4 atm. Buying a ddr4 for alder lake or raptor lake is plain bad idea.

The pre-sale price wasn't worth double DDR4 either.
It's on sale because many prices are being slashed for DDR5. The point @tunejunky was trying to make is that DDR5 prices are on a downward trend. Do more shopping and you'll find plenty of such instances. I just checked other stores and found many cases of 32GB DDR5 kits being sold for $200 or less. Even for 5600, there are decent prices:

I'm glad I'm not going to have to deal with this bs as my current system will serve me well until much better deals for am5 cpus,mobos and ddr5 will come along
get ready for 300+300+450 eur for x670e + fast ddr5 + 7800x system.
I'll buy one when it's 200 + 150 + 300,which certainly won't take longer than my system being too slow.
I agree the tendency for ddr5 is to go down,but they started at ridiculous prices and now they are just at rather expensive level. add the boards and price hike for am5 cpus,and it's over 1000eur to buy an 8 core system on new gen. for comparison,mine cost 550 altogether,also an 8-core with a really good b-die bin and a good mobo.

also, lol at 400eur for 7600x, early buyers will be milked worse than before. better wait a couple of months,might get this below 350 then.
