$230 for 7600 is decent, but still the problem is lack of good value boards and ddr5.

What if we could set the TDP at 105W for the 7900?

no ryzen other than the 5800 3d was ever locked on tdp so almost certainly you can

Yeah, mobo prices have got out of hand. I was already thinking they are expensive when shopping for X570, but now a B series mobo of the same branding (Asus TUF Gaming) is more expensive than my X series TUF Gaming. It's sad. The actual equivalent, X670E TUF Gaming, costs twice as much as my mobo. That's some crazy inflation over just a few years.

329 dollars is going to 360 euros in Portugal, not bad for the 7700 but I was expecting a little better.

$229 will be 282€ minimum after tax, that's still too much for the lowest entry processor. Add the extra cost for motherboard and early DDR5 kits and I see why people are staying with Their old systems. I'll wait for AM5 and DDR5 to mature before ever thinking about buying a new system. Probably I'll upgrade my 3600 (previously 2600) to 5600 before thinking in changing motherboard and memory.

A friend of mine , checked his PC last day he wanted to update he does video editing semi professional and soon a lot More, long story short he has a Ryzen 2600 and a 470 mb .... So for a new PC he needed over 1000 euros I also showed him the 5900x for 340 euros ... I will just update his bios and drop it in .... His face light up and told me to order it on the spot .... I guess he was not expecting this kind of update on his workflow for 340 euros. :P .

So when you compare the 7700X and 7600X modern price to the new non-X model prices, you're only saving $20. I don't really get the point of the chips existing for a 6% price difference, especially when you consider the non-X prices pretty much what the X prices should have been.

That explains why the specs are so similar between the X and the non X versions. But we also get a cooler alongside the 20 bucks...
