Considering how little we know about the development of these, the dates are all rather arbitrary anyway, so what difference does it make? It's most likely going to be released in February. But, perhaps AMD is witnessing the demand and doesn't want to take chances of people getting irritated by prices skyrocketing from scalpers, so maybe they're trying to build up stock as much as they can. It'd be funny if it is released on that date anyway.

This is Ryzen not Radeon, so they need to clear out the 5000 series stock. That seems to be a legit motivator.

My local computer shops just got in a new supply of AM4 CPU's. AMD must be sitting on tons of stock. Might just grab the 5800x3D and get the free game too.

It's not the cost of the CPU's that's holding AM4 back. It's the motherboards, they are so expensive compared to both AM3 motherboards and even Intel's latest. I'd say AMD is probably none to happy about it, but there's little they can do.

AMD would do well to work with Supermicro as a partner and produce some more general boards that aren't pimped out to the nines.

I did notice it but I assumed there was a typo since it otherwise didn't make sense, even as a joke.
