Sounds rather disappointing, does it not? I'm more interested on the new generation of GPUs with multi chips.

These are apps that don't benefit much from bigger cache. The guys at this site, promised to start benchmarking games today. So we can expect a new article in the next few days. @Hilbert Hagedoorn , @WhiteLightning Can I post the original site here?

Was this with the new 5800X3D optimized chipset driver?

Im just gonna wait for am5/ddr5 at this point. Ryzen 5 7600x will probably beat any 5000 cpu.

This is what I was debating last night. Tomorrow I get my 49 inch 3840x1080 144hz monitor back. Pushing 144hz at that res hammers my 5600x but it can do it. I seriously am just gonna save up for AM5. 7600x at min, 32GB 5200+ DDR5 and X'670' I know its stupid but ai have had x370,470 and 570 so Ill just continue that trend.

Sure go ahead

i'm with Horus-Anhur nothing surprising because no cache dependent tests were run (yet)

But can it play Crysis?

This! P.S. I doubt it'll play Elden Sphincter any better.

Hello I'm doing the tests and yes, using that chipset driver. It is/was available on GBT official site (not sure if it has been taken off) but also seen it a station-driver. Got log of installation.

You do realize this processor is just a marketing move to somehow keep robbing amd fanboys $450 (since 5800X was turning into a shame at this price point)
The 5800X has come down in price quite a bit. It might be appealing to those who don't want to pay DDR5 prices or planned to upgrade their AM4 platform but never did. Cache is crazy expensive. Intel did something similar to this, with the i7-5775C, which worked pretty well for them. Granted, where that extra cache really made it stand out was the iGPU, which this CPU unfortunately doesn't have. AMD would have been better off making something like a 5500G with V-cache. Such a chip would sell extremely well.

I bought a new PC for my simracing hobby just before covid. I bought a good x570 mobo and 3600 non x with the intent to upgrade in the future. Since this SimPC is used only for sim racing titles, Ryzen 3600 was surprisingly fast enough. I upgraded to 5800X and in the future, if I'll see cheap 3D version in a year, maybe on sale, I'll probably buy it. That will be one long lived PC. Simracing titles are usually not very CPU and GPU intensive, except if you are running triple 4K. But if I was buying now, I would go for Intel. I'm not a brand loyalist.

Sadly no. Could not find a replacement panel. I would have loved to fix it.

I want one.

@Hilbert Hagedoorn "Further results, including 1080p gaming testing are too be posted later." to, not too, or am I wrong? Thanks

Considering DDR5 costs a left nut, and all I need is to remove a situational CPU bottleneck (Japanese games with their notorious reverse-optimization) with my 3080, I'm probably still going to side-grade to the 5800X3D from my 3900X. I was going to talk about some things I'm unhappy about such as how extremely late this product is and AMD's borderline Intel-like behaviour but that rant would be 4 novels in length. Remember kids, companies are not your friend.

Why do you use 4800c40 on the Intel system? It's like running 2133mhz on Ryzen....
