No cooler, 50-100$ more, whats the point of this? Just so you can say your cpus are faster? Sad thing is that Intel will still be faster in gaming.

Not sure if price will stabilize further, but gaming AMD fans will love it. Some people are spend money on brand, rather than performance for the money.

and lots of people want the top performance regardless of the price, last "black friday" they were selling 100 msi 2080ti trio for 200$ less than our base price of 1300 "$" here so still 1100$ roughly they were gone in 5s, 110'000$ of 2080ti sold just like that you could see the amount left ticking down on the phone app it was hypnotizing to me 1k 1k 1k 1k 1k 1k 1k 1k 1k and there were also 77" inch oleds 4k 4k 4k 4k 4k 4k 4k insane, I talked to an employee they had to shut down the most used direct bank to bank payment method it broke the banks services country wide, an few millions of electronic hardware sold in less than 5hrs, my 1st tought "who is buying all of these ?" lol AMD is just admitting that with the power we have now a cheapo cooler isn't enough for mid-high end cpus and looking at the giant 3080 gpu coolers you know it's only going to get worse

It is a little odd that you pay so much more for a minimal performance bump and then lose a heatsink. I would hope that these chips can maintain their boost clocks better or else their existence is moot.

Their coolers are crap anyway, I'd prefer not to have to buy junk. Prefer very much to choose my own cooler, preferably one with a 120m fan on it!

Love my 3600 and only cost me £150. Such a great CPU. 🙂

Gosh, is it possible that too much success has gone to AMD's proverbial head?

Not sure where you are reading any defending messages I haven't seen one.

Nice profile pic dude. Also yes maybe a little bit. They are just releasing a refresh this year with funny prices since they saw no proper competition in their mind.

According to other news sources AMD's recommended sales price for these are, in fact, the same as for the original models. Which would imply that any gouging happens store-side. I wouldn't pay much attention to pricing until these are well and properly in stock everywhere though, like for any products scarcity drives price. And besides, release isn't until 7/7.

Until they are readily available at places such as Amazon I won't be paying much attention to the prices. Would be good to see the 3900X drop to £300 now though.......

Thanks, big fan of OPM, Saitama rules!!!:D IF it's as said that AMD is releasing the 'XT' CPUs at same price as similar 'older' model (like my poor 3900X) then I think it's okay'ish, though not including a cooler like mine is a dick move. But then again, who among us here actually uses the stock cooler? I sure as heck don't....

The stock coolers are enough for 3600 level stuff. But after that nah. I have aio cooling My 3900x

I have a 3700x with the stock cooler that came with, it works fine. If I don't dust it for 10 months it gets to 85C, when I leave it run something like Cinebench. Otherwise, no it barely hits 80C on anything, ever. I don't have any overclocking on it though. Any higher temps and I'd definitely have thrown some aftermarket cooling on it. I tried to leave the stock one on if possible because it cools the VRM's and this is the de-facto cheapest x570 board that was on the market. I'd rather not cool the CPU and leave the VRM's go to 100C due to no airflow directed on them. You definitely can't keep a stock cooler past a 3800x without losing some performance, though, and I believe I lose about 5% or less performance on extended runs due to the stock cooler. Doesn't make sense to spend a ton on cooling for me for the 3700x, though I've got a big Noctua and a 3950x coming one of these days if the lazy seller I bought from ever decides to ship the thing. You'll know it finally got here when there's a picture of me holding up motherboard-shaped charcoal that gave up the ghost in a VRM fire due to previously stated el'cheapo motherboard, heh heh.

On the one hand, I wish they would include it. I know several people who've bought 3700x and 3600 chips recently, and they are doing fine with the stock coolers. On the other hand, I just bought a 3800x and an NH-U14A, so my cooler is sitting in a bin and will probably never be used.

Not good AMD not good at all. I know that Amazon sells the AMD cooler that comes with the 3700x by itself for $36 bucks. I think if AMD isn't going to provide a cooler with these CPUs they should cut some more money off the price to counter act them not having a cooler.

You are very delusional because there is no defending posts here in this Thread.
