Nothing wrong with making something in China. Just gotta make sure to beat the QC guys with a big stick or offer them a nice carrot when they do well.

High Performance Mainstream to lower-Enthusiast CPU made in china. I already categorize this particular CPU branch as a really good oc'er. Buahahahahahahaha!

Not that you can call Chip with Factory Turbo of 4.7GHz clocked to 5.2GHz a good OCer either. It's not even that impressive if one considers that before OC chip eats like 105W at peak and after like 210W. And if you add that mentioned chip uses toothpaste under IHS and reaches 88°C... Even with Liquid Cooling.

Thermonuclear weapon at the size of a couple nanometers. 😀

My vote on this being a dud. It was probably meant for the 1st of april and the twitter guy fucked up. either way, this just doesn't seem legit: that 2700X on a A320 board... I expect this to be either completely photoshopped (a 2200G as the base or mixed with a 1700X from the same angle to make things easier). At least a 2200G on a A320 board would make sense. Additionally, the 2700X is handled as an afterthought: 2200G gets named first despite 2700X being the "breaking news" in the issue. And dont forget that rick roll qr code as the final nail in the coffin. expect nothing trustworthy this weekend. https://i.imgur.com/fwhX9uS.gif

How awesome would be if a french member of ours, went out, bought the magazine and scan it exclusively for Guru3D?! :D

I'm pretty sure it would result in an awesome lawsuit.

I'm really wanting to see that 486 DX2/4 vs Pentium article. Been wanting to upgrade. As long as they'll play DOOM II @ 60 fps!

That google translate was painful.... I don't think I learned anything from it. lol I'll just wait for the real review when HH is ready with it. 🙂

Yeah, I actually jumped on it and shared it when I saw it, without reading it first. My bad. lol Reason be is that I wait to read the review from HH first, but in the end it didn't have any useful info inside. And the funniest part, is that I made a fool of my self and sent it to HH also thinking it had good info. 😛

Got the mag this lunchtime to read on the train on the way home. Had a quick peek at lunch while the Boss was out, and its looking pretty good 🙂 Main points : - 2700X Single core boost 4.3GHz, all core boost is 3.9. - 2700X pulls up to ~142W, 2600X ~103W, So a lot more power for a little more clock. This doesn't bode well for overclocking headroom. - The CPU Caches seem to have been made a little faster (L2 goes from 5.7ns to 4.1ns 1800X to 2700X) - The memory latency has been improved also ( @2666mem : 1800X-85ns, and 2700X-76ns) There is a lot more text to read, thats basically just the pictures. They are really peeved at the Power consumption figures, due to the 2700X being rated officially at 105W (when it can pull up to 140W). edit : and the 2600X is rated for 95W and pulls ~103, but the 2600 is rated for 65W and pulls nearly ~90W ! They do mention that unofficially, the 2700X has been touted as having a 141W TDP.... It would also seem that the move to 12nm only enabled higher clock frequencies, and not really any energy efficiences, but i'd like to see some undervolt tests first 😉
