Whats up witht pricing? Only a dumbass would buy 3600xt over 3700x.

Prices are inflated until they go on sale.

I'm hoping these eventually replace the non xt versions in their non xt prices. I'm also hoping for another great review from Hilbert i would like to drop one of these in my system if its decent.

yes and no, depend if you need 6 fast core or 8 slower core, technicaly i have get a 12 core, but with time i think that 8 or even 6 core ryzen would have been enough... Even more since last week where i get a second hand 1600AF (for only 40 euro) to replace my Athlon GE (sold for 20 🙂 ) the compare show that it's enough for most thing even gaming...

Real price will be after the first out of stock. The first wave is always enthusiast buyers.

The description of the 3900xt says that it comes WITHOUT a cooler. Now for how much you may think you do not care for the stock cooler, this is a change.

Only 100mhz more on boost clocks? Why bother, especially at that price?

All core clock is up between 200 and 300MHz depending on model. That's not small difference on 12C/24T. It's like having extra 3,6GHz core. Not that there are 3900X which would not do 4,2GHz on all cores with still good power draw once manually configured. It is there for people who buy system now, anyway. For patient ones, there is Zen3 coming.

i think in general is not just the 100mhz on boost, is the sustained boost on all cores and teh allowed TDP that will make possible to sustain the boost longer hopefully. We will see reviews to understand what is changing.

Supposedly a higher infinity clock too but we'll see I guess once these are available and reviews or user testing can confirm whether they'll hit 1900 - 2000 instead of the current 1800 limit. Would allow some slight improvement for 3800 and possibly 4000 RAM kits though in turn offset by timing being more lax which unless it's a good binned kit the resulting overall performance might be worse than a lower speed but better timing kit the way this works with latency at least on Ryzen CPU systems. 🙂 New AGESA too back at 1.0.0.2(v2) continued from 1.0.0.6 but under a new name and branch, no idea when those will be available either though just something I just read on the AMD Reddit. 🙂 (1.0.0.6 had some nice improvements for CCX configurations such as voltage tuning I believe it was and then possibly other fixes or further tuning of memory compatibility perhaps.)

Amazon always has very inflate prices in the first few weeks.

My 3700X is at 1900 FClock right now. Many other people can hit 1900 on Matisse 2019 edition. It would be interesting if 3800XT/3900XT it can do 2000 or more, because that means chopping down another 3-4ms out of the memory and cross-CCX latency, which can have big benefits in gaming/non-linear performance results.

--- In many games and gaming-like tests I get better results than reviewers, simply because my memory is at DDR4-3800 @ CL16 (1900 Fclock) vs the typical DDR4-3600 used by reviewers.

If pricing wasn't announced, discussing speculation and pre orders isn't productive. A refresh is a refresh, but doesn't make much sense releasing it at higher prices (imo). AMD has an opportunity to bate some people waiting for Zen 3 and to lower slightly the current prices to clear stock. I could care less for their poop coolers, they're made by CM and their fans are poop: I bought a CM case and one of the fans has died within a couple months; I tried their Master Fans and returned all 3 because they vibrated like mad and the noise was unbearable; my ryzen 2600 cooler makes a slight buzz, and my friend with the same CPU says his fan is noisy. I'll stay away from CM and would prefer if a CPU didn't bring a cheap cooler.

Yeah the pricing is going to be key although it could also lead to the existing Ryzen 3000 CPU lineup to shift around a bit as these new refreshes are slotted into whatever arrangement AMD is doing here which I expect is going to be also based around the binning for what these will need to hit these higher target frequencies and other tweaks plus overall availability even if it's being done with the existing process only now a bit more matured. 🙂 50$ - 100$ over the non-refresh editions but maybe that's being too optimistic although if it's too much these are going to be tough to sell however it might make a bit of a shuffle around the 3600 or 3700 maybe even the 3800 which is more or less a 3700 with higher clocks already just fitted in a different naming rather than something like a 3750 or what it might have been. EDIT: It's a interesting move but I guess they have the means and the existing silicone to push the Ryzen 3000's a bit higher even as the Ryzen 4000 lineup is getting closer to a reveal. Same with the rumored Navi10 refresh then I suppose too just improving what they already have and hopefully not making it too costly although if it pushes pricing down on existing hardware that could also be a incentive for picking those up cheaper if the difference isn't going to be all that much anyway or at least price/performance wise. 🙂 Well some will upgrade anyway as this will be faster even if it's a slight increase and then however these refreshes scale and what AMD has for how these can boost and all that thus higher sustained clocks or a higher max speed and other factors even if it will vary due to binning and overall differences between every processor for what these will achieve and the usual here. (Plus the infinity fabric scaling if it's going to be increased as another potential performance improvement though I don't believe this has been confirmed yet.) EDIT: Ah or maybe the Ryzen 4000's get delayed. https://i.imgur.com/xnqZszH.png https://www.resetera.com/threads/digitimes-ryzen-4000-delayed-to-january-2021-due-to-ryzen-3000-success.227917/ Well nothing confirmed yet either.

@JonasBeckman Completely expected. Why ? Because 7nm EUV, simply can't ramp up production fast enough for the massive demand that is expected on these 4000 series chips (Every gamer our there might want to switch to them giving up on Intel) Of course, EUV not confirmed, but it's VERY likely, because that's the only way they can break the clock limits they have with 3000 series. I would expect that a 5Ghz boost Zen3 based on 7nm EUV would be the killing blow to Intel's "Best Gaming CPU" marketing, and AMD wants to make sure they get it right this time ! 3000 series are good but not the killing blow.

Didn't really see any info on all core clocks, but if that is true then maybe it would be kinda interesting. Still, Ryzen has pretty good performance already, most CPU's can sustain more than 4ghz all core, so I don't really think it's something warranting paying even more money for. Like that 3600xt being close to the 3700x price, which just doesn't make sense IMHO.

There's essentially zero X570 or B450 boards in stock (many with 3-6 week lag expected). There's a handful in the dark, greedy, slums of the internet. For the brave.

MegaFalloutFan:

I feel dirty after reading this. Reading Reeeeesetera is like touching someone with Bubonic plague.
The first year seemed like a branch out from Neogaf with plenty of involvement from developers and others inside the industry itself but since then the overall discussions have gone heavily into console preference and platform bickering and various social and political issues around a lot of the overall discussions. Good for news though I've been using Meta Council more and more though the community there is still pretty small but they do get a lot of info and news too plus as a primarily PC enthusiast much of Era having gone into Switch and Playstation with a bit of XBox the PC info is pretty minimal and there's a lot of confusion or misunderstanding although there's still some good info in the opening posts although even that might change plus some of the earlier ban waves surrounding the initial state of Epic Games Store I believe also led to many other PC users getting banned or leaving. (Even some of the more involved gaming industry involved people seem to have left by this point although a few remain but nowhere near what it used to be though that might have been unavoidable.) EDIT: As to the Ryzen processors to get back to that well the delay seems plausible giving more time for the 3000 series and it's popularity plus this refresh and ensuring there's good availability of hardware once the 4000 series do launch if it's pushed to around the start of 2021 and possibly the CES event of January. 🙂 EDIT: But the info is still very much unconfirmed but the way things go in this industry things can be one way right up until the announcement and then a total change to whatever the new direction is. Which I suppose isn't anything unusual just avoiding saying things until they have a announcement ready and not getting into any issues with investors and such.
