2400G gonna be really nice for HD gaming within reasonable settings.

I am looking forward to the first reviews to see its performance and if it is good to mount one with an itx board.

This might be really good for a HTPC.

This might be the only way that I can reasonably upgrade the video on my system....

250W Pico PSU ought to keep the internals tidy, too. If there's room, maybe I could fit a 12v lead acid battery inside, which the Pico PSU would accept as a direct power source.
But, I'm not sure when/if I'm going to make this, simply because I don't [yet] have a need for a modest gaming rig on-the-go.
Fun stuff to think about, though.
No I know - I'm agreeing with you. I'm just clarifying that you're going to pay a lot for RAM no matter what, and even low-end discrete GPUs are getting expensive, so getting this APU seems like a no-brainer in comparison.
I've considered doing a similar approach. I personally would rather take a bare LCD panel from a junked laptop (which I have plenty of), get an LVDS controller board (they cost around $30 on ebay and aren't difficult to wire up directly to the PSU), and mount all of it to a small and rigid briefcase. Then use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. A Fox2232

So, it's not cheap, but it is an option.
I've considered doing the same idea of making transparent "slides", for a few reasons. Maybe some of them could inspire you:
1. To use with an overhead projector. Makes for a great ghetto home theater, I just currently don't have a place to put it (I do have the projector, though).
2. I have a mineral oil aquarium PC. I'd like to do a transparent LCD on one of the side walls to make it look like there are fish inside, while also telling me stuff like temperatures and system load. But, I don't have an LCD that's the right size and I don't care enough to buy one. So, that idea is also on hold.
3. There's also the idea of taking a mirror or a window in your home and make it "smart", where it'll tell you the weather or maybe emails, news feeds, text messages, and so on. But, I'm not "plugged-in" enough to really care about making this.
I'm not sure if you're aware, but you can buy touchscreen layers for existing non-touch LCDs. After all, no LCD panel is made with touch built-in. Due to the dimensions of your display, you're pretty much just limited to resistive touch panels:

@schmidtbag : Good ideas, but I think mirror will not work very well as there is still need for backlight. Maybe, if it is see through mirror and then backlight can be put behind it as it leaks light. Or it will need sufficient ambient light to go through back and forth. (Not sure about ghost effect.)
But all those ideas will become very soon very common thanks to micro-LED technology.

When the display is placed behind the mirror then yes, you absolutely need a backlight.
Depends on how you set it up. You primarily just want to use high-contrast emblems and text; it can't really be used for desktop use, images, or video. So for the most part you want the entire background to be white (making the LCD transparent) and then use solid colors or black for everything you want to read. Visibility isn't much of a problem when it is set up like that.
I think it may be worth clarifying that the LCD would be in front of the mirror, not behind it, something kind of like this (both sides of the glass are LCD):

Fox, That's what I call an educated answer props to you sir you know your stuff! Was expecting something like its a little faster. Looking at the prices this is going to be yet another very good year for AMD, I am very happy they finally bounced back.
