It has a reference card, why?

128-bit and 8GB BRAM in Q2 2023? Really? When Navi was launched, I though that will have better, faster, cheaper and more powerful than Polaris. RX580 has 256-bit bus and 8 GBVRAM and it was launched how many years before? But here we are.

Who ever brought a 480 8gb for 250usd in 2016... Got the deal of the decade!

Or even the rx580 8gb after that.

Well the reason is that we don't like the prices of top gpu and this is what they offer. Those GPUs do not have enough clusters to feed and fetch more than 4 memory channel eventually, so more than 128bit isn't possible.

I had the 4GB RX480 at the time and then they released the rise of the tomb raider and it guzzled GDDR ram up to 8GB proper demanding at the time on full eye candy. Thats when bit/coin rage started and I sold my 480 to bit coiner for more than I paid for it and got a 1070 for less then msrp. All sounds odd compared to recent history pricing but TR played great on the 1070.:)

Due to clock speeds, the 7600 actually has more total memory bandwidth. In fact, the 7600 has lower overall specs than the 580, but the higher clock speeds, smaller node, and more modern architecture are apparently what gives it the performance advantage, or at least they ought to perform very similarly. That's why to me this GPU is fine so long as it's priced correctly. If AMD wants $300 for this then that's a slap in the face. If they want $200 then it's fine.

Allegedly - I don't know if they are to be trusted:
According to RedGamingTech, the RX 7600 could cost US$299, matching the RTX 4060. The leaker also alleges that AMD could compare the card to the RTX 3060 8 and 12 GB variants with performance uplifts of 34% and 17% respectively. Interestingly, the leaker thinks Team Red is positioning the RX 7600 as an “upgrade for the RTX 2060 owners”. Moving on to MLID, Tom shares practically the same information with some new details. Per one of the leaker’s AMD sources, the RX 7600 price which was initially mentioned as US$329 “got changed to US$299” and it could change further.

Good explication and argument. Looks that I have to update my knowledge in GPUs. Thanks

That depends heavily on the price. At $300 it's DOA indeed. At $200 however it's a nice E-sports/casual gamer card. At $250 it's very meh still, I'd rather grab a discounted 6700XT or even better, the 10 GB versions which are cheaper.

Yeah £200 would be the right price for this card

It will most definitely be a 350€ card here in Europe, making it DOA. I'd rather get an RX 6600 for 223€. Honestly still waiting to see if the RX6700XT lowers from 400€ to sub 300€, that would be a sweet deal.

This thread feels more and more like on of those session of AA, telling each other how nice would it be if "200" is the price... sure dude, it is GOING TO be 200 buckeroos in your blurry imagination. Obviously is gonna be more expensive (duh!!! like have you not learned from 4090 / 4080 / 7900 series / 4070 ... each thread the same dumb "thoughts and prayers" for lower prices just to have a reallity check the review / launch date to have higher prices "look mah a 4070... naaa we have 4070 at home" - 1080ti users and all the people with some sensibility when spending in these mega corp scams. Why would they lauch reference cards?... cause it is gonna be sold in sh*t quantities, so AIB pretty sure voiced their concerns of not wasting time and effort in a dead as f*ck card, so AMD better provide with as much as possible cards at the lowest price possible... how could that be? mmhh I wonder, a real price discount? naaahhh that's commie to provide an actual competitive product? pfff what the heck you think we have time to waste thinking actually how to be competitive, this aint an internship. OH YEAH LOWER PRODUCTION COST. Slap the sh*ttiest, most basic, lame, inexpensive crap on top of that, outsource it to the wet shop of asia, and send them to the AIB, so they just have to print boxes with their corresponding brands and designs.. there we have it, "gamers" gonna LOVE it... ohh yeah dont forget those red accents, they make the card looks faster, we all know red is the performance color. Where the heck is my check? AMD Rinse and repeat for other card launches... but people will say the same "AKSHTUALLY" the card should be $$$$ USD or is crap, or $$$$ and is good, will not buy it (*proceeds to buy it anyway* cause bootlickers gonna lick).
