I'm just expecting AMD to have horrific prices, just following the example set by nGreedia. I think a best case scenario would be $1K USD, so $1.5+ everywhere outside of 'Murica. I might skip this generation just out of spite. And you guys are probably going to disagree with me on this, but the XT being over 14% cut down from the XTX just on shaders alone, makes them different enough that they shouldn't both be called a 7900. IMO they're pulling an nGreedia with their naming as well, just not as egregiously. A 1536 shader difference is not a joke, on nVidia cards it might not be that huge because they effectively just decided to double what they call a shader, but on an AMD card 1536 of them is essentially an entire low end card. Unless the pricing ends up being far better than everyone expects, AMD is just continuing the trend of grinding the PC gaming market into oblivion.

If the 7900 uses the same chip as the XTX, then i don`t see a big problem. But it the 7900 uses a different die compared to the XTX, like Nvidia is doing with the 4080 against the 4090, then i will agree with you. Regarding the pricing scheme, if they follow Nvidia, then they can keep the cards for themselves...

Well lets hope it doesnt go down like the 7 series CPUs or you'll be grabbing that 6900XT like i grabbed a 5800X3D
This is actually my backup plan if the 7x00XT/X kills RASTER but RTRT stays at 3060 levels. If I cannot get a 5800X3D for a good price here, I would have to opt for a 13600KF or 13400K/F but everyone is telling to wait for the one CPU to rule them all = 7x00X3D!

They are down to £360 in the UK with plenty available.

Its 436 USD where I am right now... sigh... Just pushing to focus on GPU first, then new CPU/MB/RAM.

AMD can better estimate price/ performance value. It depends, where they want to drive their image. AMD could be even fastest in raster perf.. Still many will stick to Nvidia, If only because Nvidia is more expensive.

Undying:

You cant really expect 300$ gpu that runs 4k60, not with games being so demanding and unoptimized. Simply not gonna happen. We should be lucky if a 500$ gpu runs 1440p/60 with raytracing enabled.
You're not wrong but we often see benchmarks with AA set to max, which takes away a large chunk of performance and is a feature I tend to prefer not to use. I also don't play games as soon as they come out, leaving room for some optimizations. And like I said before, I don't yet care about raytracing performance since that will not be made affordable for a long while and I need to draw the line somewhere. Honestly though, $300 might be likely for me personally. I hardly ever play the latest AAA titles regardless of age - I find most modern ones to not be fun, at all. For some, I would honestly rather watch someone play it than play myself, and I would rather watch a TV series than watch someone play a game. That's why I might find myself getting a 6700 [XT] if the 7000 series ends up not being that big of a change - it's still bound to have mediocre RT performance and I doubt the performance-per-watt will be that much better, so, a 6700 might give me the performance I need for a few years. Lastly, I game on Linux, where AMD's drivers tend to be in much better shape. It's also where a lot of AAA games don't work, typically due to DRMs or anti-cheat stuff. Since I rarely play online multiplayer games and don't feel like dealing with a bunch of DRM bloatware, that makes it a lot easier to narrow down my ever-increasing list of games to play, which tend to be ones that aren't super demanding. EDIT: Also, I don't have to pay sales tax, which for products like these would affect the price enough to be a dealbreaker for some.

Please , please AMD let it be good price / performance ratio 😀 on this gpu's , it is needed for a healthy gpu market at this time ...

I have some leaks for a credible source that source is I pull em straight out of my ass !(/sarcasm off about all those leaker YouTubers that act like they have a private line with the engineering team of each company) But what if the 7950xtx and 7950xt are reserved and they are the same cards with double infinity cache using 3d vcache like they used on CPUs ? I mean they know how to do that already .... Just a random though.
