Still overpriced! These ranges of third/fourth tier cards were previously at the 250usd range and below. GPU market is still fucked and will remain fucked as long demand is this high and cryptocurrency is still a power hungry steaming turd...

So still no performance increase at the $200 bracket...

If there is no 3rd GPU company, then this GPU will always be on this price. Just like smartphone as example.

The 5700Xt was released 2 years ago, for 400 euros. Now we get the same performance for 50 euros less. What a rip-off. And this is considering msrp. Scalpers and miners will make this even worse.

Too expensive as others have already said.

Except that really isn't the case as much as one hopes. Still priced too high. Needs to be 249-275 at most.

Both teams skipped lower bracket so they maximize the profit. They dont care about the gamers really.

What's good for the crypto is bad for gamer industry. Worrying But hey, maybe game developers will start to make good games again which dont rely on flashy , hype trailers, no gameplay and decent graphics.

Too expensive they can keep them 350usd=440cad.... 500cad got me my gtx 1080 before taxes and shipping.

This would be a valid argument if the 6700xt was the same as the 5700xt. This is a mid card equaling or beating last top card. You dafties confuse me. Price is screwed yes, but its not mormalcy in the gpu market anyways.

To say the 5700xt was a top card is not accurate either tho it was an upper mid range when looking at the competition and even it was too expensive for what it offered at the time

It was the top amd card. Compared to 2070Super it was 100$ less expensive offering the same performance.

except last "top card" was an upper mid range at best, falling between full tu106 and double cut tu104 from nvidia. so it's your logic that's wrong.his is spot on,this is a rip off.

slower then, slower now,and lacking almost all dx12 ultimate features and dlss rdna1 was a demo for the actual product, which is rdna2.

This is a mid graphics card, with almost a high end price. And with the performance of GPUs launched several years back. And AIB cards will go closer to the 400 euro mark. And refrain to insult other members, just because they disagree with you.

That a price/performance to be stagmant for several years, was never normal in the GPU market. I've been buying GPUs for over 20 years now. And this never happened. At each passing generation, we would get the same performance as the previous high-end, at the mid range. And for a long time, we would get a new generation almost every year. Now we are lucky to get a new generation every two years.

6600XT should be a 250 USD card, as should the 3060 versions from the greedy team. I guess I'll have to wait for the 7000 or 8000 series, if my GPU lives long enough.

Oh wow, corporations acting like corporations..... So $500 for the "High End" versions from Sapphire, ASUS etc....?

AMD cares for gamers right? They gave everybody FSR after all...?

That's not the point. The 6600xt is the same performance as 5700xt and for almost the same price. It used to be that we got better performing product at the top and the stack got shifted downwards, so you if you bought $400 card it was better than $400 card from last generation. Now we have the exact opposite, we get new cards that perform better, but also cost more. Top cards today are 50% of your PC budget. If this continues it would really make a lot more sense to just use console for gaming and have a budget PC for work.

Aside from the unlimited greed the crypto boom allowed, there are some technological considerations. It's only so far that giant, monolithic GPU chips can go, even with smaller fabrication technologies (which are also starting to get more complicated and expensive). In fact we have seen it exceedingly clearly and unambiguously on the CPU side, where Intel didn't bother to invest in R&D above the bare minimum and thus the 4-core mainstream maximum continued for many years. Because making bigger chips starts to lessen profits. Intel could still make 8-core ones, but 10-core apparently was already torture for them. Thus they dropped entirely out of the HEDT market, aside from customers who absolutely needed an Intel system for whatever extremely adapted and custom software they happened to be running. On the GPU side there hasn't been anything equivalent to the chiplet revolution so far. Development reached a plateau of a sort. It doesn't help that the bleeding edge memory required by modern gaming cards is also more and more expensive, yet massive amounts of it are needed.

I'm sorry but my full desktop plus monitor mouse and keyboard is cheaper than the high end GPUs. A GPU costs 80% of the computer...
