I don't quite understand what is the hurry to receive drivers? Drivers are updated for some purpose and if there is not any critical functionality that is broken or much awaited, nor there are games that absolutely require driver level optimization, isn't it good that the team takes it's time? I totally understand that many people want to try out the optional drivers and that is very cool, but in general you don't constantly need new drivers. I think it's somewhat unbelievable that the tech media writes about this in the way it has, but most likely this is because some author wants to give AMD flak. Nice to hear though that they are making progress. They are not going to abandon RDNA based cards in a long while naturally, but models before that are not likely going to get the same level of support it seems, which is understandable, because from gaming point of view, for example RX 480 is starting to slowly be out of date for enjoyable modern gaming experience. Pascal cards too have been basically axed from any real improvements a long time ago I'd say, though even if the other company is not doing any better, that doesn't mean the other one shouldn't try, but overall, I'm happy how things are now with Radeon drivers, since from last spring to start of this winter, many drivers were awful and there was no real stable new version in about six months! :S For me 12.11.2 has been solid.

There are no critical problems, but there are other kinds of difficulties, e.g. I am forced to disable the gpu hardware accelerator in Opera and Edge, otherwise the videos on twitter and Facebook show jitter and a problem with the contrast, the Callisto Protocol even though it is supported by the latest driver and while its makers have given 4 patches so far unfortunately stuttering persists, Witcher 3 remains unplayable in DX12, stuttering, crashing, the manufacturer has already given 4 patches, the game needs a new driver, also, every time I restart my computer without overclocking the card, watman tells me that something went wrong due to an unexpected system failure ,AMD control panel refuses to open unless I retry the same command a second time, and i know very well how to install/reinstall the drivers with either DDU or AMD software, you will tell me that you don't have these problems, I agree, but we don't all have the same system, some will face problems some don't but above all I consider it unacceptable from AMD's side because it had the misfortune or the inability to create a new series of graphics cards which is inferior in some areas in relation to its rivals to stop renewing its drivers in older series, this is not it has happened before, even with the huge problem of the 5700xt with the black screen, AMD continued to give drivers to the older cards.

I'm interested to see drivers followed by which means they don't neglect gen 6000 and earlier. I bought an RX 6600 3 months ago and any kind of delay scares me.

i havent updated mine in 6 mths i dont see the point. and what is the worry anyway. the way i see it is the nvidia fans try to inflict damage on amd because there hasnt been any updates for the low end cards in a wile. making a mountain out of a mole hill. i understand why they do it they get payed to do as much damage they can.it dont work though because people are not as stupid as they think.

don't be scared. the support will be there, just realize that AMD is the smallest company making GPU's and that their driver release schedule is far more need based than Nvidia (i have both brands) who just ties into the marketing of the game devs. even if you want the newest release the second set of updates (for new releases) usually are far better. chances are you just want to game w/ games on hand and i think you're fine or you would've mentioned glitches. 9/10 Nvidia updates are irrelevant to my game library

I'm using both AMD and Nvidia video cards at the moment. There are indeed a lot of bugs that need fixing and driver optimizations for latest games on the AMD drivers 😏.

Dont be naive with nvidia you are only getting false feeling you are getting driver updates on older cards while in reality you are not getting any or performance is even downgraded to make newer cards look better.

Undying:

My stuff working just fine. Always does. In fact other then lack of 32:9 VSR. I havent had one issue or let down since 2020 when I had my triples and certian eyefinity options were removed in 2018 drivers. I just dont get the hard on for constant driver releases or that Nvidia is just magically always perfect.
