I seriously doubt they will be weak by any stretch of the imagination ... I have a GTX 780 that drives most games to the max on 1440p at above 45-50Hz and its a fairly old card at this moment. If 700+ euro cards would be considered weak 1-2 years down the road then there would be little reason to buy one unless you were swimming in cash ... it would be much better to get a cheaper card and upgrade more often.
I take even DX10 base this way: Now you may or may not be limited by GPU horsepower. But as DX12 removes Draw Call bottleneck = You can throw much more on GPU without actually suffocating CPU. And as a result we will see games with so many more object instances even this year. Then add few more effects and 1440p will be max what can those card drive at reasonable fps. 4k will be out of question (which is discussion here: lack of HDMI2.0 to drive 4k@60Hz). In time High settings may go back to 1 Top card released that year and Ultra may become again thing of SLI/CF or card released year after release. We are both at quite old HW, me at 1080p screen, so I may have bit higher fps at same settings in comparison to your 1440p, but still in some games it is just sad. (not having 50+ fps is sad, having 60+ fps is OK, 90+ fps is good, 120fps+ is golden)

Even the gtx960 is Hdmi 2.0
it's False NVIDIA make Trick bandwidth is 10.2 GBPS built like HDMI 1.4 if thay have HDMI 2.0 : Where's color profile DCI-P3 COLOER ? Where's is HDR ? NVIDIA Can not bring them because bandwidth only 10.2 GBPS and not 18gbps as requires the Standard HDMI 2.0 the tv do upsacle to 60hz i have X290 i have only 30HZ 4K but the tv make upsacle to 60hz . processing information in bandwidth HDMI 2.0 with 18GBps you need 1.8 times the Power be able to receive it . well done AMD dont MAKE crap ! amd have more Power from gtx960 and were not willing to lie to customers to make forgery HDMI 2.0
about power and bandwith you haven't get the right info...
I HAVE the right info nvidia not have hdmi 2.0 . the programs do not verify bandwidth the programs do not verify Standard HDMI 2.0 the programs built on Standard HDMI 1.4 10.2 GBPS AND rec 709
Buy a dongle and win?
you can't buy dongle dp1.2 to hdmi 2.0 Because there is no such thing dp1.2 work on 300 MHz AND HDMI 2.0 WORK on 600MHZ dongle Will reduce the tension and you get to 300MHZ bandwidth like HDMI 1.4 10.2 GBPS

the right question which video card have True HDMI 2.0? Only one problem, no graphics cards with HDMI 2.0 in 2015 AMD Radeon Fury X doesn't have HDMI 2.0 support everything is cheating, false and fake test in nvidia not support hdmi 2.0 not support 18 gbps to processing 18GBPS you need 1.8 times power NVIDIA has sold tens of thousands to customers promised video cards with HDMI 2.0 It's a lie! not have hdmi 2.0 NVIDIA not Supports DCI-P3 because they do not have enough bandwidth only 10.2 gbps like hdmi 1.4 not support HDR because they do not have enough bandwidth only 10.2 gbps like hdmi 1.4 some people brought as testing like NVIDIA supports HDMI 2.0 this is wrong test test does not test bandwidth .
That's odd because I'm connected to the nvidia GPU HDMI port on 3 of my PCs, all of which handle more than 30 FPS. Is it the full 2.0 spec? Who knows but it isn't limiting whatsoever for the average TV/monitor whereas this AMD HDMI port absolutely is (for an intended 4K gaming box). For a gaming box that's to be used in the Living Room, this HDMI choice by AMD is strange.

I think I made the right decision in getting a GTX980ti. I have it overclocked to 1442MHz stable and 8GHz on the memory. "I could go higher" I can play GTA V maxed out with 2xMSAA and get a solid 60fps with an average temperature of 73°C in heavy traffic and 67°C in buildings at 35% fan speed. I got the ACX 2.0 SC edition. I made Newegg pay me back the shipping because I ordered rush shipping and it got here 3 days later, so they honored the refund . Basically I payed reference price 😉

Didn't you just get banned a few days ago under a different name ???

Fury X is AMD manufactured card right? when MSI / Gigabyte / XFX and there others I can't recall of the top of my head.. When they do their versions maybe they will put HDMI 2.0 on their cards? Or won't there be other manufacturers making this?
the problem is not only hardware (too easy lol) but support too... what make things illogical is that the Fury (and derivative) CAN and SHOULD have the support as they can handle the res and feature used by HDMI 2.0...

Does not bother me as I use displayport. What is most important now is performance, driver support and overclockability. And AMD is falling back on those 3.

Hi Hilbert if you have the fury in your pocession for benching can you confirm that ? Or the nda is not lifted yet ?

Could you please tell which TV you've got? My brief search for a 4k DisplayPort TV only led me to quite expensive Panasonic solutions designed for video mastering but not for a mere consumer. For their price it is wiser to go for a OLED tv to get ultimate blacks.
Why are so many people whining? just buy a bloody adapter.
If it was that simple AMD would tell us to use an adapter. It won't work obviously for DP 4K@60 => HDMI 2.0 4K@60. I wish I was mistaken in that.

You are correct, LG OLED 1080P 55" can be bought at a "reasonable" price today, and is better then most 4k TV's upto twice the OLED's price. Anyway, here is some 4K sets with DisplayPort: Panasonic TC-55AX800U Panasonic TC-58AX800U Panasonic TC-65AX800U Panasonic TX-L65WT600 Panasonic TX-58AX802 Panasonic TX-50AX802 Samsung UE55HU8500 (You can add a Displayport on it's modular backpanel). Bizlink showed a DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 4K@60hz 4:4:4 HDCP2.2 on CES a few months ago, and was supposedly ready for sale in april. They supply the PC industry with adapters, so someone probably has dibs on their first baches, since it's still not in stores yet. Would not be surpriced if one of those was in the Fury boxes, if not they are probably in the stores shortly, as a Bizlink representative stated to some AVSForum member.. Problem solved 🙂

Panasonic TX-50AX802b That's my baby 🙂 It's got a 4k displayport 1.2a and also one of the HDMI inputs does 2.0 so I'm ready for 4k60 with amd and nvidia 🙂 Forward thinking by myself last year that was!

Indeed, since Bizlink=Accell, and Accell enjoys the AMD-Eyefinity partnerlogo on their site, things might not be so complicated....

Smart move, I will never buy a 4K TV without a DiplayPort, and Panasonic is the absolute leader on this point. I only wish they woud go the whole mile and supply every 4K set with DP...

Could someone explain me why would "HDMI 2.0 is the answer for products in the living room"? Or is this just about causing riot because we can?

Well if a product is aimed at 4k in the living room and then not giving it a HDMI 2.0 port restricts it to 30hz instead of 60hz for those without display port. My 4k screen has a HDMI 2.0 port and no dp thus making it a shame it doesn't have one. Plus this forum lately has just been arguments over anything so I'm not surprised at these threads any more.

Last year TV do not support HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 except AX902B models (ax800 and lower have only HDMI1.4 and no HDCP 2.2) which is problem if you plan to use it as 4k TV or watch protected contenty. This year almost all TVs have HDMI 2.0 and many supports 4k@60 4:4:4 chroma but they do not have DP anymore, even Panasonic dropped it from all of their new TVs. Chance that DP in next 10 years replace HDMI is zero to none as neither part of AV industry supports it. HDMI 2.0 chips are available for some time now and not much more expensive then 1.4 so not putting it on new Fury is really bad move from AMD. If you want to get display bigger then 32 inches then there is not really other option then use TV and to be honest at moment TVs are much cheaper and better option unless you really need that small 144hz display. If fury really does not support HDMI 2.0 and there is no convertor from DP at moment then they got 2 lost sales in my case.
data/avatar/default/avatar01.webp
That's unfortunate but you can use a Display port to HDMI 2.0 cable or adapter...

The fact that this is a forum for discussions - these threads are just as welcome as the non complaining ones 😀 If no one was complaining over the little things, it would be kinda boring don't you think ?
