They've done it before, never stopped them and the market wasn't confused. OEM builders had different cards with the same name as the retail market. The general consumers wouldn't know the difference unless they were savvy enough to whip out GPU-Z to see the difference. deltatux

It also makes sense for both AMD and Nvidia to not speak about their future products months before their release, since there's a risk their current sales will decline I want the good old days of HD 4000 vs GT200 price wars!

AMD have already said at the start of 2013 that they will hold on to the 7xxx series for 2013.

So based on and always according on the "rumors" taken with every different type of "salt" there is, the new single-GPU from AMD will be about as fast as a Titan and has 6GB VRam(again this is just speculating on the rumors). Good good. An 8970 for 500+ euros with about if not more the performance of the Titan. This give me big hopes for Maxwell.. 😀
