I would hope that i7 is just in there for proof of concept, but regardless, it's kind of an odd move (if not a little embarrassing). As to the device itself, I'm curious what the market would be for something like Quantum. With a dual-Fiji and some high end CPU (presumably Zen), it will easily cost double, triple or even more than the latest console (whatever it is). It will no doubt cost more than an equivalent powered home-built PC (small form or large) and it's using a fair amount of proprietary parts. It seems to be a PC/console hybrid and I'm not really sure what the benefit is other than it's kind of small. It's clearly a badass little device but I'm not sure that's a compelling enough reason to buy. Am I missing something?

It could be that AMD's CPU's run just a tad too hot, or require too much power for such a small device. The TDP of the 4790K is 88W and the FX 9590's TDP is 220W. It could just be their trying to keep things cool, and even under water maybe they couldn't keep things cool enough with their own CPU's?

We know that since their video. It shows intel MB. I think 1st generation will use intel's CPU.

Doh. Heat and wattage aside, current FX Vishera CPUs would simply bottleneck it.

i really like the design of this and its got loads of gaming power but i bet its gonna have a massive price tag on it, in uk it probably be £2000 -£3000 , but theres lot rich people around so i think it sell very well because it looks so good and its watercooled so silent too

I think theres a heap of potential in this. AMD is clearly targetting the lounge room as 4k tvs are very affordable now. What i dont get is that fiji doesnt support HDMI 2.0 so whats the go? Only panny tvs have display port. Maybe it will be adopted by more manufacturers in the 2016 lineups?

Since when Mini ITX PC are something new ? The concept here is just to show that mini ITX system could too be powerfull and use dual Fiji... ( outside some home made mini system where users choosed to dont sacrify power ).

As allready discussed on different Fiji threads here and on other forums, you have a tons of adapators of cheap adaptors for DP to > whatever, and HDMI2.0 ones are coming really soon. (( its not really a like a tons of TV, monitors use allready HDMI2.0 )

Will these adapters allow 4k at 60fps and HDCP 2.2? Sorry I'm not knowledgeable on these adapters and am very curious about this AMD concept..

Thats a good question, for be honest i have absolutely not watch their capacity. Normally, for the HDMI2.0 adaptator, no problem they seem fully compliant with 4K@60hz ( DP 1.2> HDMI2.0).

Intel CPU + ATI GPU is not a bad combinaison...

Well, to be fair, they are running "ATI" and "AMD" sections quite separately; which is good for competition... and a possible company split.

Oh boy... how embarrassing... Even AMD is saying "Don't buy our CPUs". I think this is a bad move, they should simply not have made such a device if making it advertises for their competitor... this is truly pathetic.

Exactly, their GPU department basically hurt their own CPU department by making such advertising... there is clearly something wrong there and rumors about a split make more sense now.

Looks like amd isn`t living in denial about which is the superior CPU at the market.

If AMD uses intel cpu everybody says embarassing, irony, etc If AMD uses theirs everybody says massive bottleneck, who on earth uses AMD CPU for CF/SLI (even this uses their flagship CF), etc. Poor AMD.:bang:

From what I read, there were two versions made, AMD and Intel based. Anyone with a single cell for a brain knows that just about any Intel CPU will currently beat any AMD CPU at gaming. Win10 might change that, but for now, it's Intel + GPU all the way. There's hope for Zen to knock Intel down maybe a peg, maybe 2(would be nice for a change).

I really hope so, I'd have figured that they'd trow in their own cpu's considering how Dx12 changes everything. I really hope they turn things around with zen and change the company image from poor mans hardware to Enthusiast hardware. I love amd as a brand and I hope I'll be able to recommend them in the future because i simply can't right now unless it is for very low budgets.
