They've also been clearing their Hawaii inventories for the past year and a half.

Then... Zen could change the balance?

"Here.....HERE!!" I do not understand how this company is even relevant any more. I get that they have "deals" and that their "market" isn't desktops per say, but their hardware (CPU's) have been a joke. I'll never buy AMD again for most anything for that matter after my wife's experience on her laptop. Damn thing can not even stream a 1080 signal over YouTube let alone a 1080P (60fps) signal. Literally goes into stop motion video and this laptop is not even three years old. Anything I have seen on the release dates of their hardware is another slap in the face. Intels offerings today are going to be that much cheaper tomorrow when AMD does drop their new (garbage) hardware. Just watched a video of dude playing todays' games on a ten year old Intel CPU. Quad core and all and was taxed to most one hundred percent, but it was performing. More than AMD can say about their CPU's. Can not even stream video on YouTube......, so very sad to see these things happening today.

Thuban was a great CPU. Phenom II competed with C2Q on a equal level but Bulldozer failed and here we are waiting for next great CPU from AMD. Hopefully we'll have decent competition next year or Intel will tear us apart with prices. Your wife probably dont even have basic knowledge when it comes to computers if her 3 years old laptop cant even stream a YT videos. Also, I sense fanboyism on your part. I can probably attack you for having a 4 way titans saying its stupid af but im keeping it for myself so should you.

I'm not sure how you could call the CPU crap, sure its weaker, but it still gets the job done. I play all my games (1080p) maxed, and it runs great, payed about $178 for my proc, so its most definitely a bang for buck kind of deal. But looking at your buid: x4 eVGA GTX TITAN SC, 65gb G Skill RJ's @ 2133, etc..... then I can see why you would make such a statement. But some of us like to spend $1000 to $1500 on a solid gaming rig, not $5000 or more for something that does the same exact thing.

If you're speaking about scrap builds, scrap builds always go Intel since older binned cpu's are cheaper and easier to find due too how much stock Intel made. Performance pref has nothing to do with it, as 10 years ago even the FX was still performing pretty well, as well as the Opteron 185 with the easy capability of overclocking. Phenom could keep up with the Core 2 Quad easily, the TLB bug was blown out of proportion and did not have any real affect on real world performance anyway. The issue with the Phenom was stock, price, and heat. And not sure what you're talking about with AMD not being able to stream videos...I have 3 AM1 Athlon machines that are more than capable of streaming video(which is what they're used for), and even some light gaming. If these things couldn't even do that, the same binned core design wouldn't be used in the Xbox or Playstation, which run a number of different tasks simultaneously. For you wife's laptop, I would suggest looking into other pieces of hardware inside of it or even your own network. May even be software, pretty much all laptops have bloatware from their company. Intel pentium laptops from 10 years ago can decode and stream 1080p video sources, which 1080p streaming is about the standard now these days.

Good to hear this. At least now we can get back to some much needed competition between Intel and AMD. I have high hopes for them. I'm sure they will pull this off.

Wait just so I understand this right - Summit Ridge is now being released at the end of Q2 2017? What happened to February? It's already annoying enough that they aren't having an October release.

It says that it won't start mass shipments till after February, so presumably March is when it's being released -- but the sales for that won't really show up until Q2.

Which is your laptop model? It sounds like a bad configuration. We might be able to help.

Don't bother - someone that upset over what is likely their own mistakes is not bound to listen to reason.

I have never seen any CPU that is 12 years old or less have a single problem with streaming YouTube. AMD processors are very capable today and Zen will be much better. Also, the term is "Hear, Hear" not "here, here". It pretty much means listen up because the truth is being spoken. Of course in this case it isn't but you get the picture.

I agree to a certin extent amd is about (half) the performance of intel if that even. I am having a horrible time with the last 2 quad-core machines I bought from Amd some games wont even run at all! You get what you pay for bottom line.

What a load of BS.. and this is coming from a Intel user ever since the first pentium.. enough with the trolling

^^ This, my PC is the same as in my forum profile. plays games very well considering its age. the only issues i have now are GPU related, not CPU related. can open up task manager on my second display and see games using >50% CPU utilization. so i honestly dont know what the person raging about AMD is on about. you cannot blame AMD for you buying a cheap laptop and it not doing what you want it to do.

It is a lost cause really, but thank you for your input. As opposed to the "suggestive" opinions some have so strongly felt about some of my comments.

The only CPU i know of that couldn't handle Youtube was from a Intel Atom back when netbooks was hip. You saying your wife's laptop couldn't play youtube in 1080 is total GARBAGE. you probably mistaken Microsoft Edge Flash bug as poor AMD hardware :stewpid:
Yup across multiple OS's...... Great comment though...

Thank you, but her laptop is truly trash that has always (across multiple os's) had the same issues. No matter the browser or other software on it. Always chews up that CPU usage to near %100 always when streaming anything over 720 60fps. She was a sales rep at her store and knew what to look for as this was "comparable" (supposedly) to an i5 at the time. It was misleading tech jargon that made it seem like this apu was going to be special, but in all actuality it is a joke. But people in here can say it like they feel it whatever. Just if peoples' comments were like this in person I bet words would just be differently spoken alltogether. Last comment meant for others on here yapping off about my wife and or I not knowing what we are doing.... To bad assumptions are the worst GOT'DAMN thing to be throwing around.
